En busca del bolígrafo perdido // In search of the lost pen

Hola querido hiver.

Al leer la propuesta de @mipiano para el tema del mes en la comunidad Hive Collectors di un salto de alegría... si hay algo que he guardado a lo largo de los años ha sido todo bolígrafo que ha caído en mis manos... hasta que recordé que en mi último episodio de locura minimalista a lo Marie Kondo hice una limpieza profunda que incluyó mi amplia colección de bolígrafos. Tiré todos los que no escribían y eso fue la gran mayoría.

¡¡Horror!! Si al menos pudiéramos considerar los instrumentos para colorear tendría algo más que presentar. Porque también se puede escribir con ellos, ¿verdad? De esos tengo en versión fina, gruesa, a base de alcohol, con purpurina, de madera y hasta acuarelas. Pero buscamos bolígrafos, así que... intentaré encontrar algo decente.

El primer paso es mirar en los botes portalápices. Aquí tengo poco que rascar. Me toca rebuscar en los cajones...

Aquí no puede haber mucho, pues su tamaño no lo permite. Pero me desbloquea numerosos recuerdos. Este estuche me acompaña desde que estudiaba en el instituto, en los años 90. Es de los objetos que más tiempo lleva conmigo. De ahí pasamos a la universidad y también ha venido a los diferentes cursos de especialización que he tomado.

Prueba de su antigüedad es que la Unión Europea todavía no existía, jaja. Estaba en camino, pero aún permanecía su germen, la llamada Comunidad Económica Europea.

¡Bingo! Sinceramente, no recordaba que tenía este bolígrafo multicolor. Parece que merece la pena seguir buscando.

Mi siguiente objetivo es este otro estuche, mucho más nuevo que el anterior. Me encanta el color morado de fondo y la figura que lo decora. Veamos si hay algo...

...esto es lo más parecido a un bolígrafo que encuentro dentro. ¿Sabes lo que son? Plumas para hacer caligrafía o lettering. Unos años atrás me dio por probarlo como medio para relajarme. Resultó en un dinero malgastado porque mi pulso es un desastre y en lugar de tranquilizarme lo único que conseguía era frustrarme y ponerme más nerviosa.

Estas plumas utilizan tinta líquida que se vende en cartuchos o en frascos para rellenarlos. El dispositivo de salida es plano, por lo que se pueden hacer verdaderas florituras si sabes manejarlo. Requieren de una gran precisión para lograr resultados decentes. No tengo paciencia para eso pero también me hace mucho duelo desprenderme de ellas. Quizás me anime a intentarlo de nuevo.

Llegados a este punto he encontrado algunos ejemplares que encajan con la propuesta de @mipiano. Sigue leyendo y te los presento.

Quizás te sorprenda, pero mi bolígrafo favorito para escribir es el clásico Bic cristal de 1.0 mm y en color azul. Probé durante un tiempo a utilizar el negro pero me resultaba demasiado formal. Tengo un boli Bic en cualquier parte donde pueda necesitar escribir, incluido el bolso de mano. Y siempre hay en casa un paquete para reponer los que se terminan. Es un bolígrafo barato, ligero y fiable. Es muy raro que uno nuevo no funcione bien. Y, como ya he hablado antes sobre mi mal pulso, al precisar que ejerzas una mínima presión sobre el papel consigo que mi letra mejore y favorece una escritura más consciente.

De la misma marca poseo otro clásico, el multicolores con negro, azul, rojo y verde. El modelo de abajo es una versión más moderna que llegó a mis manos en algún evento relacionado con mi último trabajo, en el que asistía a numerosas conferencias, congresos y reuniones patrocinados por laboratorios farmacéuticos. En ellos es donde conseguí la mayor parte de esa colección que fue a la basura porque tras años de reposo en un cajón se secaron.

El de cuatro tintas clásico me lo compré en esa última etapa laboral y lo usaba para diferenciar en la agenda de papel los distintos tipos de eventos. En azul iban las tareas, en rojo los eventos profesionales, en verde los apuntes personales y en negro las notas generales.

Más bolígrafos de merchandising. El de arriba es del Ayuntamiento de Zaragoza. El del medio es de muy buena calidad para ser de propaganda y la punta se saca girándolo en la parte central en lugar de presionando el extremo.

Y, por supuesto, ¡mi favorito del trío es el bolígrafo de Hive! Acompañado de su libreta a juego es un complemento perfecto para cualquier reunión.

Termino esta pequeña exposición con mis tres plumas estilográficas. La de arriba está sin estrenar y su procedencia es obvia, merchandising. Las dos inferiores fueron regalos de mi primera comunión. Solamente he usado la de color rojo, pero dejé de hacerlo porque había que elegir entre escribir con un toque romántico o que se entendiera mi letra, jaja.

Bueno, al final mi búsqueda no ha dado mal resultado. He encontrado alguna que otra perla perdida. Y después de tanto hablar de cosas para escribir se me ha ocurrido una idea para futuros temas: ¡libretas y cuadernos! 😉

Hi, dear hiver.

When I read @mipiano's proposal for the theme of the month in the Hive Collectors community, I jumped for joy... If there's one thing I've kept over the years, it's every pen that has fallen into my hands... until I remembered that in my latest bout of minimalist madness à la Marie Kondo, I did a deep clean that included my extensive pen collection. I threw away all the ones that didn't write, which was the vast majority.

Horror!! If only we could consider colouring tools, I would have something else to present. Because you can also write with them, right? I have thin ones, thick ones, alcohol-based ones, glitter ones, wooden ones and even watercolour ones. But we're looking for pens, so... I'll try to find something decent.

The first step is to look in the pencil pots. I don't have much here. I'll have to rummage through the drawers...

There can't be much in here, as its size doesn't allow for it. But it unlocks many memories. This case has been with me since I was in secondary school in the 1990s. It's one of the objects I've had with me the longest. From there, we moved on to university, and it has also come with me to the various specialisation courses I've taken.

Proof of its age is that the European Union did not yet exist, haha. It was on its way, but its seed, the so-called European Economic Community, still remained.

Bingo! Honestly, I didn't remember I had this multicoloured pen. It seems worth continuing the search.

My next target is this other case, much newer than the previous one. I love the purple background colour and the figure that decorates it. Let's see if there's anything...

...this is the closest thing to a pen I can find inside. Do you know what these are? Pens for calligraphy or lettering. A few years ago, I decided to try it as a way to relax. It turned out to be a waste of money because my handwriting is terrible, and instead of calming me down, it only frustrated me and made me more nervous.

These pens use liquid ink that is sold in cartridges or bottles for refilling. The nib is flat, so you can make real flourishes if you know how to use it. They require great precision to achieve decent results. I don't have the patience for that, but I also find it very difficult to part with them. Maybe I'll try again.

At this point, I have found some examples that fit @mipiano's proposal. Keep reading and I'll show them to you.

It may surprise you, but my favourite pen for writing is the classic 1.0 mm blue Bic crystal. I tried using black for a while, but I found it too formal. I keep a Bic pen wherever I might need to write, including in my handbag. And I always have a pack at home to replace the ones that run out. It's a cheap, lightweight and reliable pen. It's very rare for a new one not to work properly. And, as I've mentioned before about my shaky hand, the fact that you need to apply minimal pressure to the paper helps my handwriting improve and encourages more conscious writing.

I have another classic from the same brand, the multicoloured one with black, blue, red and green. The model below is a more modern version that came into my possession at an event related to my last job, where I attended numerous conferences, congresses and meetings sponsored by pharmaceutical laboratories. That is where I got most of that collection, which ended up in the bin because after years of lying in a drawer, they dried out.

I bought the classic four-ink one during that last stage of my working life and used it to differentiate between different types of events in my paper diary. Blue was for tasks, red for professional events, green for personal notes and black for general notes.

More promotional pens. The one at the top is from Zaragoza City Council. The one in the middle is very good quality for a promotional item, and the tip is revealed by twisting the middle section rather than pressing the end.

And, of course, my favourite of the trio is the Hive pen! Accompanied by its matching notebook, it is a perfect accessory for any meeting.

I'll finish this little exhibition with my three fountain pens. The one at the top is brand new and its origin is obvious: merchandising. The two at the bottom were gifts from my first communion. I've only used the red one, but I stopped because I had to choose between writing with a romantic touch or making my handwriting legible, haha.

Well, in the end, my search has not been in vain. I have found a few lost gems. And after talking so much about things to write with, I have come up with an idea for future topics: notebooks and journals! 😉
