Habits play a big role in our lives. Most of the things we do every day are not consciously done, but because of habit. In the book “The Power of Habit”, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Charles Duhigg shows how habits are formed, how to break them, and how to develop new positive habits. After reading this book, you will understand why some habits are so difficult to form or break.

The book is mainly divided into three parts, such as personal habits, which are triggers that initiate a specific habit. For example, when you sit at your desk after lunch, you feel like checking Facebook. Here, eating lunch is the cue. And this is the action that you do in response to the cue that has become a routine for you. For example, checking Facebook after lunch. And with this, the satisfaction or joy that you get after completing the routine. For example, learning something new or getting entertainment by checking Facebook. Which you enjoy as a reward.

And so the author of the book, Duhigg, explains that these three parts form a habit. He also said that to break a bad habit or create a good habit, you just need to change the routine by keeping the cue and reward in place. By doing this, you will achieve success and good things in life. And so only by understanding this cycle can we change bad habits and create good habits.

From the book, we can learn that our habits are actually controlled by a part of the brain, which reduces our ability to make daily decisions. That is, most of what you do is a habit, which you do not consciously do. The book shows how small habits can bring big changes. For example, exercising for 15 minutes every morning can have a positive effect on your sleep, eating habits and overall mood.

Speaking of my personal experience, after reading the book, I was able to identify my own bad habits. For example, using my mobile phone before going to bed at night. I changed my routine and now started reading books without looking at my phone, which is helping me fall asleep faster.
The Power of Habit is not just a theory book, it is a practical guide that will help you improve your life. If you want to make any changes in your life, then this book can be an inspiration for you. It will teach you how to achieve your goals by bringing your habits under your control. After reading the book, you will realize that it is possible to change your life more easily than you thought. And so today I am ending my writing about this book here, thank you everyone.
