Spooky time is nearly here! Do you have the Halloween Buzz?
Good afternoon buzzers!
We're back, buzzing, and doing what we do best — supporting YOU to grow!
So today, we're asking about your spooky Halloween plans. Do you go 'guising' or 'Trick or Treating'? Do you bob for apples? OR simply scare the local kids with your spooky outfits and decorations?
Guising is an old Scottish term for Trick-or-Treating, before it was cool. You used to disguise yourself to blend in with the wandering spirits during the Samhain festival. The marking of the end of the harvest season and the beginning of the cold, dark, gloomy half of the year ahead! Then the Christians took it over and made it a celebration of All Hallows' Day, naming it All Hallows' Eve, or Halloween. It's interesting how history plays a significant role in what we believe today, even if we don't actually know the origins.
Most Americans know Halloween for 'Trick or Treating', which was part of the tradition that Scottish and Irish immigrants brought over to America! They like to pretend they kicked us out back in the day, but most of their traditions are actually from the Celts and other British cultures!

I will be setting up a Photo Studio in my garage to photograph people's costumes as they come along to trick or treat. :) $20 for a photo and a print, should be a productive night!
Sounds like a great plan! Im sure you'll have loads of people interested, I hope you've got a cool backdrop to add to them?
The backdrop is PURE DARKNESS. (Easier to light for whatever random groups come along!)
I like to listen to Goth and Dark Wave music around this time of year.
