Another week, another Slothly Savers update! And, well… pretty much more of the same, in the best possible way given the circumstances.
This week hasn’t been anything dramatic on paper, but it has been meaningful in reality.
The recovery from surgery continues — slowly but steadily. I’m not sprinting yet, but the walking distances are back to what they used to be, which feels like a personal win. The average steps are inching upward, and that’s more than I could’ve said a few weeks ago. Actifit posts are rolling in again, not because I’m obsessed with token rewards (although let’s be honest, they help), but because movement is part of the healing process. Bodies love consistency! And ironically, sloths understand consistency better than anyone else.

For most of my “sitting energy,” the focus this week has still been on finding a new project before the current one ends this summer. Right now the job market feels like a weird mix between dating apps and choosing insurance — you know what you’re looking for, but somehow it’s never quite right. Still, every interview and conversation pushes me a bit closer to something that fits. So I’m grinding that wheel with as much patience as I can muster (spoiler: not as much as I’d like).
Meanwhile, the house continues its transformation into a more wheelchair-friendly setup. For anyone who thinks reorganizing a home is fast or easy — try doing it while recovering from surgery and still balancing every other aspect of life. It’s like trying to solve a Rubik’s Cube with mittens on, while also having someone ask “but why not just flip it over?” every 45 seconds.
Now let’s talk numbers — lovingly, if not spectacularly:
Hive Power: 17,045 → 17,164
Weekly HP goal: 938
Weekly HP achieved: 119
Not a moonshot. But still forward movement.
HBD: 1,640 → 1,663
Second layer increments:
DUO: 1,137 → 1,138
BBHO: 12,576 → 12,645
BEE: 725 → 728
Again, nothing breathtaking — but that’s by design. There’s beauty in slow compounding when life demands most of your attention elsewhere. The machine keeps ticking, and that’s what matters.

While my posting frequency has slowed and the engagement tempo has taken a back seat, the infrastructure side is running smoothly.
The tipping bots are alive and tipping.
The Hive witness and Hive Engine witnesses are up and stable.
Dashboards are updating without intervention.
That’s the part that goes unnoticed most of the time — until it suddenly would matter if it wasn’t running.
In my opinion, that’s the real win this week: the automation, the continuity, the systems that run even when I’m sprinting (or limping) in other directions.
So what did Week 8 teach us?
recovery isn’t linear
walking is progress
applications are progress
Hive systems quietly chug along
small gains still count
No fireworks, no grand announcements — just stability in motion.
Onwards, as always. 🐌💛
