Beauty In The Mess - SMARP 266

It's often said that "after the rain comes shine", but on my street, after the rain comes a water log. Lol.

I live in the countryside, and the road leading to my house hasn't been tarred. It's typical of most roads here. Whenever it rains, the road becomes a maze of waterlogs, sometimes, it's ankle-deep, depending on how heavy it rained.

They tried patching it up with mud and block debris, at least to mitigate the water log. But you see, it's not the same as tarring it. With more rain, the sand's gonna wash off, and we're back to square one. Lol.

But amidst all of these, the water log often turns into a makeshift mirror, reflecting the buildings, objects, and the lush greenery that lines my street - palm trees, flowers, and grasses. Even the sky! It's weird how the mess reveals a different kind of beauty, even if it's just for a moment.

Earlier this evening, it rained; fortunately, it wasn't much of a heavy downpour. But it was enough to form a water log at different spots on the road. As I headed home, I spotted the reflection of the palm trees towering above, their fronds swaying in the ripples.

You know what happened next! Hehehe. I grabbed my phone and snapped some shots on the go! The photos turned out well. Hope you like them. 😂
