Shadow Hunt: Between the midday sun and the scent of lemon. Entry for the Shadow Contest/SMASH #417 (ESP/ENG)

Hola, buenos días, tardes o noches, comunidad de #shadowhunters. Una nueva publicación para esta casería de sombras en #hive, versión #417 del #contest #SMASH.

Mi cacería de sombras de esta semana me llevó al hospital. Allí, bajo el sol de mediodía, me detuve a capturar el rastro de un pequeño árbol de limón. El césped recién cortado, con sus pequeños fragmentos de hojas verdes esparcidos, creó una textura que me pareció fascinante al mezclarse con las sombras.

Ese arbolito y su sombra han sido muy relevantes para mí estos días. He pasado la última semana combatiendo la fiebre y la tos, refugiándome en el limón como mi mejor aliado: aguapanela con limón, limonada (agua + azúcar + limón) y agua con miel, limón y jengibre.

Buscando en mi memoria otras bebidas con limón, recordé algo que probé hace unos 10 años en el Tolima, Colombia. Era un negocio que solo vendía jugos, una bendición para esas tierras tan calurosas. Allí pedí un esponjado de limón; temía que fuera demasiado ácido, pero resultó ser una delicia equilibrada. Lo mejor fue el contraste: acompañar esa frescura con unas empanadas y un buen toque de picante. 😅

Qué increíble cómo la sombra de un árbol puede transportarte a sabores y recuerdos de hace una década.

Hello, good morning, afternoon, or evening, #shadowhunters community. A new post for this shadow hunt on #hive, version #417 of the #SMASH contest.

My shadow hunt this week landed me in the hospital. There, under the midday sun, I stopped to capture the trail of a small lemon tree. The freshly mowed lawn, with its small fragments of green leaves scattered about, created a texture that I found fascinating as it blended in with the shadows.

That little tree and its shadow have been very relevant to me these days. I have spent the last week fighting fever and cough, taking refuge in lemon as my best ally: aguapanela with lemon, lemonade (water + sugar + lemon) and water with honey, lemon and ginger.

Searching my memory for other drinks with lemon, I remembered something I tried about 10 years ago in Tolima, Colombia. It was a business that only sold juices, a blessing for such hot lands. There I ordered a lemon fluff - I was afraid it would be too acidic, but it turned out to be a balanced treat. The best thing was the contrast: to accompany that freshness with some empanadas and a nice touch of spicy. 😅

How amazing how the shade of a tree can transport you back to flavors and memories from a decade ago.
