It is well!!!

There’s this popular soothing phrase that goes thus: it is well, even in the well.

This phrase is used to encourage and lift people up when they are downcast; and for some, maybe they’ve been cheated or mistreated, and when they can’t do anything, they immediately speak out with that word, most times with a long sigh or a little breath under their skin.

I have also said this several times, but I had to shorten it: it is well.

If there’s one thing I believe, it is that all will definitely be well if we do not fuss over nothing and leave everything to God to handle for us. I can’t remember when or how I started using this phrase, but for many years now, it's been my catchphrase; it comes out unconsciously, and when I can’t control the situation, I use it to make up my words at that moment.

My siblings know me for this word, and my big sister even told me one day that she knew it was what I would say when she poured out her mind to me. And honestly, I had nothing else to say than that it is well.

It’s always a reassuring word that keeps me going and trusting that the One who holds the universe can do anything. To human, it’s impossible but with God, all things…I mean, everything is possible.

There is a feeling in me whenever I mention this word; it brings me a sense of comfort. Even when I lie down and think over everything, I know I don’t have power of my own and that word doesn't miss its way in my mouth. I love it.

If everything else isn’t working, what do you next? You trust God, knowing all will be well, especially that you believe in the Word in Romans 8:28 that all things work together for the good of those who love God…

One time, my siblings and I were having a discussion, and at some point, the conversation got fun, and everyone seemed to enjoy the moment. But suddenly, the conversation shifted to how each of them has been dealing with a lot lately. All I could do was to listen as they said one thing or another. But there I was, breathing slowly and sighing every now and then.

When they noticed my silence, they asked if I was still there and what I said next made them crack a joke, and we all laughed. It was only what I could say because, sincerely, I couldn’t find words to express that point. They wanted me to say something, but that was all I could think of. They also chorused the word, trusting that God is in control.

This word has always followed me everywhere I go, and it’s so comforting and relieving to know that I don’t have to exert my energy on something when I could hand everything to God. He has promised to help me. Who am I then to control things I know I won’t win?

I look up and say, “It is well.” And yes, things have been well so far, and I am not where I was, even though I haven’t been where I should. But surely all is well because I know who I believe in. The One who is mindful of me will surely make all well at His appointed time.

So, yes, all is well. Do you believe, too?

And I just said these words some minutes ago.
Hmmm, some situations can leave you speechless that you'd have no other thing to say than "it is well".

In the mist of storms , we can always encourage ourselves to say positive things that can help us out of our burdens

I know of a person who always say this phrase too when they get overwhelmed with the activities happening in their life. It's very neutralizing, letting out a sigh of relief and just be, cause not much can really be done on one's part, especially in that state of mind.

It is well is like a golden phrase for believers o. It beats complaining and helps us see things with a pinch of hope because we believe that all will go back to order no matter how scattered they are presently.
