A Line I'll Never Cross!

There are so many things people can do and not do. For me, what I can never do is cause or stir up violence. I said this because I have seen how violence is so prevalent among people, even around us. Most people find joy in hurting others. They want to give it back to back without an iota of peace in them. They wake up to violence and go to bed with the same attitude, like, how does one just enjoy fighting and causing chaos every time? Everything about them is to cause violence.

Not me! It’s not in my nature to fight or stir up conflict. I value peace, and I stay away from anything that would cause pain. Ever since I was young, I have always avoided situations that could lead to quarrels - even the smell of it takes me far away from the scene. There are times I cannot avoid it when I am in the middle of heated arguments, I try my best to step back or walk away while waiting to hear the gist later, if I really want to listen at all, which is always rare because I tend to feed my mind with good things rather than the bad.

To me, violence only leaves behind pain, regret and brokenness. Have you seen anything good come out of violence? No! It leaves a huge wound in the end.
I have seen how violence can lead to destruction, not just physically but emotionally, too, and it even goes ahead to hurt others around them. A single act of violence can change lives forever. It can destroy relationships, create enemies and leave a lasting scar that may never heal. That is why I choose to embrace peace and never violence.

Everywhere I go, I try to make my first impression like that of a gentle dove. One thing I have always learned is that the way you carry yourself speaks louder than words because people read you than any book. From the start, I let people see that I am someone who loves peace, someone who smiles and has no intention of causing violence and hurting another. Trust me, when people notice that about you, they treat you differently.

Tell me, how would someone bring a fight to your doorstep when they know who you are? When they know you always stay gentle rather than being around quarrels, I bet they won’t. They will create that boundary for you. They will definitely respect you, and this is why I used to say that first impressions matter.

I believe in the Holy Bible, and my belief has helped me obey the Word of God. For example, Psalm 11:5 says, “The Lord examines the righteous, but the wicked, those who love violence, He hates with passion.” This particular verse is always a reminder to me that I should choose peace, not just a personal preference, but a godly principle.

God detests violence because when it enters, it tears apart love, which He has created from the beginning, and He doesn’t want that to happen. Another verse that speaks to me is Matthew 5:9, which says, Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. When you make peace, you act like Jesus and are definitely a child of God. With this scripture, just because you chose peace doesn't make you weak; it’s a mark of true strength and godliness.

It’s not something I’d think over when you ask me about something I can never do because it would be easy to tell you immediately that I can never cause violence or fight to prove a point or show I have power. My heart longs for peace, and I would rather be known as someone who loves peace and walks away from conflict than one who creates it. Life is too short to have enemies and hurt others when I could just spread love everywhere I go, which brings me true freedom.

This is true for me as well. I can't stir up violence. I can tease, jest, joke around but I know my limit and I won't intentionally hurt my fellow or anyone for that matter.

I am for peace and not for war

The same with me too, dear friend. I usually don't go for any fights, and even if I have a small misunderstanding I try to solve it. Else it's so disturbing.

I really love this. Peace makes life easy and sweet, but violence only destroys. Sometimes it’s better to walk away than to keep fighting and end up with pain and regret.
