A while away from the hive community felt like away from home, but I am happy am back now. Hope I didn’t miss a lot.
All my years as a teenager, I had known valentine to be all about love and a period dedicated to lovers,

as a result of my single nature, I had never had a big dream for any valentine day.
The shocking part of my story is that I had always received a gift on every valentine day, notwithstanding how little the gift might be. Sometimes I thought I was too beautiful to be ungifted and other times, I felt like I had generous friends……
BOOM!! It is a week to valentine and I don’t see myself being gifted,
it feels really weird but it got me thinking and I would like to share the result obtained from my thought.
It dawned on me to find out the meaning of the word valentine: “A written message or an artistic work, token, that is used to express affection to whom someone loves or is romantically involved.”
This dictionary meaning got me surprised because I and many persons out there, see valentine as a time to get expensive gift and never give any, some see valentine as a time to make love to their dates and many other one sided belief.
Let me correct that wrong impression before I give my valentine resolve. Valentine is a period that you should tell the people you love, (could be family, friends, dates and many more) that you love them either through letters, short love messages, gifts and any good thing one could think of.
I said gift as the last because many people are too stingy to gift family members, which I believe should come first in any one’s life.

Now to you that gets but never gives, are you trying to say you care about no one? Personally, I don’t like using the word love because I feel the word has been underestimated.
To you, expecting the most expensive and luxurious gift, aunty and uncle the price tag of the gift doesn’t determine the extent of their love for you so rest in JESUS NAME and appreciate whatever you are given.
Let me now talk about my New Year valentine resolve.
Just before I draw the curtains, a word for any one that will gets a gift or message from me on Valentine’s Day: do not misinterpret my actions, it’s all about my care for you.
Please let us all work towards a better valentine day with a renewed mind.
