The World Needs Healing

When we look at the world, one thing is on the minds of many, amongst many other things. That's the concern that it needs to get better. Undeniably, the world needs to be better. The news that we come across is not much of good things happening. It's always one negative or the other. Even in the event of good news, they don't stay long. It doesn't take long before that news gets overshadowed by one or more bad events.

All of these points point to the fact that our world needs healing. Due to the state of things in my country, and in this part of the world, I'm always concerned and praying for this healing to come to us here. But looking at it globally, the world as a whole needs this healing. It needs healing from the wars, corruption, chaos, violence, immorality, hate, racism, destruction, disaster and more. These are the things, amongst many others that the world needs healing from.

It's a concern to many I believe. Those who could say they don't care must have cared but got tired so they care no longer. One binding fact is that, we want a world where all is going well. But can we get that, especially with how much wrecked this world is? I'll say the way is to heal the world. It has been wounded, deeply cut and bruised by the actions of humans, such that some stitching, dripping, and medication will be necessary to heal it. Maybe not to a perfect state, because we know that with wounds, the scars remain even after healing.

As one who believes in the power and work of love, even as affirmed from my Christian faith, love can do a lot. “Love conquers all” so the Bible says. And this is a universal language that transcends a location, but should be a way of life for all. The absence of love is an open door for the possibilities of chaos, disaster and every one of the vices mentioned above. What I can reconcile from the administration of love into all things is that it makes you think twice before causing any harm to anyone.

The world is a beautiful place, filled with diverse beings and creatures. But when these beings, called humans fail to coexist in love, then we give way to every form of social vices and global issues. Ultimately, leading to an accused and wounded world, as we all can attest today. So, let's give love a chance; true love. And with that, I believe we'll have a world (being) healed from the wounds, bruises and injuries inflicted on it.
