I've heard a lot of people say a lot of things; amongst my age group and much more the younger age group. The statements are a clear reflection of the nature of my discourse in this post. The words uttered were a reflection of the inherent nature of their mindset and attitude within. So, when these things were said in all confidence and zeal, it was only an announcement of what is harboured within.
We live in a world where one man can totally trample upon his own neighbour if it meant him doing would earn him some sort of reward—money of course. The thing is, it comes in many ways indirectly than we can think of directly. The little things that will strip chances away from the other person that we would do is what can be the issue here.
"Money isn't all that there is!" Yes, that's right. It's so sad that the world we live in has bought almost all people to a point where "all" what that seemed to matter is to acquire money and obviously live a good life. Have you heard some persons say things like, "all that matters is to make some money and everything is alright?" Something in that line. Now that's the mindset I'm talking of. But then, it's money all that matters?
I came across a post some time ago that said, "it seems we all came to this life to look for money". I was caught up by that statement. Alas, I've been living with such thought indirectly. Alas, we've been living with such thought indirectly. I came across another that gripped me. This one mentioned something like, "the reason why we fail to fix some of the issues in our world and immediate environment is because everyone is looking to make money and live above the problem". But then, how many have been able to do that? We know the answer.
Don't get me wrong please. This post isn't meant to cancel out the need to make money. I'll be lying to make it seem so. For one good reason is that, to improve my financial state is one of the reasons I'm here on this blockchain. I don't wish to make it seem otherwise. However, there's something I've come to understand and it's the destructive nature of thinking all there is to life is make some money.
Okay, I guess even being on Hive here wasn't based on some money paid but a relationship that afforded one the knowledge and privilege to be a part of this wonderful web3 blockchain. I can clearly state that it was a relationship built with someone that afforded me the privilege and opportunity to enjoy of the opportunities of this blockchain, which I'm duly enjoying. The wrong perception is that money is everything. Nevertheless, there are things and privileges a good relationship only can get you.
So, what's the point of my discourse? As we make strides to acquire money and gain a financial stable life, it's important to value the relationships we can build. It's the greater currency I'll say. It's the currency that could buy one what money might struggle to. Funny huh? I put it that even with the bad things people do, money doesn't suffice for all, there has to be someone in that place to make it happen beyond the huge money put into it. The greater currency is a well-built relationship.
Surely, when one holds it to heart that money is all that there is, the effect is that it makes such a person desperate to do "anything" to make it. Yeah, "anything". Something we can fully attest to in our society today. I still maintain, "money is good", and we should endeavour as much as possible to make it. However, let there be that thin line that there's more to this life than it. At such, one should put decorum to that.

Money is paramount and we should find it following due steps. It becomes a problem when we chase money and forget our moral values and norms in the society.
Thank you For sharing this with us @daverick
You're absolutely right bro. At that point then it becomes a problem really.
Thank you for reading through.
@daverick according to the holy book (Bible) which says the love of money is the root of all evil.
I clearly got the print for your ink on every single word you pen down....
My brother people no longer have shame if it involves money, many people have gone the extra miles just to get this money.
But wait a minute I always say to myself any money that won't come with peace of mind I think I don't need it.
Tue rich are also consider to be right in everything they do,the world now sees poor people as trouble makers...
I support you 100% like you rightly said that making money is good but we shouldn't forget our core values as Individuals.
Thank you sir!
I remain @ntul001
Your comments are profound @ntul001.
I can't agree less with everything you've said here. You clearly get the point of my discourse in this post.
Honestly, any money that will take my peace isn't worth it. Many who have treaded that path can testify.
It's so sad money has made the words and actions of the "poor" become nothing and erring.
Yes sir, we should never forget our core values due to it.
Thank you for adding more to this post. Your comments are highly resonating. I appreciate.
Money is important for our day to day activities yes,but it also should not be the only thing our mindset focuses on but the value of the relationship we build. That's the point that really caught my attention sir and I will say I agree with you on that
Yes sir, despite its necessity it shouldn't trample on the value of relationship. There's a lot a well-built relationship can give beyond money.
I'm glad you find this post insightful and resonating. Thank you for stopping by.
