Helping people in my own little way has always been a part of my life, different persons have what drives them to help others and as for if am being asked what drives me to helping others, my answer will be personal codes, my compassion for humanity and its a daily lifestyle that I have purposely chosen.

I learnt a lot from my parents and husband, they love helping people, and they help without expect anything thing in return. They are my role model when it comes to given and that has motivated to give. It's good moral to help and the holy bible we read admonishes us to help one another in need and it should be sacrificial.
Human sympathy plays a vital role in helping, when I see people going through hardship, struggling to survive in difficult moment, I try to feel their pain and put myself in their shoe. We don't need to have much before we help and helping it's not only giving money, we can help by offering an advice, opening or holding a door for someone, helping an elderly person, checking up on the sick neighbour, giving a listening ear, putting a smile on someone's face and by so doing it means a lot to the person receiving the help. I help because life it's not always a bed of roses so we all encouragement at any given time.
I was discussing with someone yesterday, that from now hence forth, I will be helping the helpless, maybe those my retired civil servants family friends and orphanage homes that they don't have anyone who helps them, that from monthly income and I will be supporting them no matter how little. It will goa long way helping and putting a smile on their face and also make them feel loved.
On several occasions, I have received helped from people and even strangers without them expecting nothing in return, and having these experiences have taught me to show the same act of kindness to people, so being grateful is another thing that drives me help others, and helping people its another means to tell someone that you appreciates.
Like today I went out to buy something to eat, the money I have with me was not enough to buy the foodstuff, so I removed the one that the money I have was not able to cover, I was surprised when the seller told me I shouldn't bother, that I should take the food stuff and I even went ahead to tell her I will pay next time I come to buy something from her, she said I shouldn't I worry about that, I was happy and full appreciation. If I see her in need nothing will stop me from helping her because one good turn deserves another.
When I help, am not helping to be praised or to be recognised and not to draw attention, even though it's good to show appreciation for being helped, infact the right act of help or kindness is the one that is being done silently and without expecting nothing in return. Am happy knowing that the little help I rendered, has put a smile on the person's face and the same time reduced the person problem is okay for than a reward.
I don't need to have a special occasion or time for me to help someone, it's a daily lifestyle for me, I help without even knowing. I can be on call with you and your airtime get exhausted and I will recharge for the person without the person asking, pay a transport fee for someone who is stranded, encourage and support a family, friend and neighbour, that little help cultivates a positive impact and it has also made me to know that when I help someone it's not only an action, it's a way of life.
In conclusion, when I chose to help others, am not helping because am rich, or because everybody does it, or am forced to help, or because I want attention, not all these. It is of personal value that I help the needy, show gratitude and have human sympathy. I believe when we show a little bit of love and kindness, it's a way to make the world a happy place. Provided that am privilege to render a helping hand, I won't stop because it's part who I am.
