I woke up feeling terrible yesterday morning. The night before, I had started to feel a little bit off, but I didn't think of it much. My friendy, @hopestylist was also sick and had just started getting better. During the time she was sick, I kept telling her how I hated being sick. My exact words were, โI hate being sick. I hate how I feel whenever I am sick.โ I understand that hate is a very strong word. However, it is the right word to use in this context. I kept ranting to her about how I hated being sick, but little did I know that something was already preparing in store for me. Overnight, my body started to turn against me. Like, come on! I thought we were friends. I thought we were on good terms. Before I slept, I started to sneeze and my throat began to feel funny. Right before I drifted off to sleep, I hoped that when I woke up on Friday morning, I would feel better and that the whole funny feeling wouldn't get worse.
Well, you know what they say; โwe donโt always get what we want.โ I woke up feeling tired, weak, and plain miserable. Barely 10 minutes after I woke up, I started sneezing uncontrollably like I was reacting to something. That's not all, my left (or maybe it was the right) side of the nose was blocked. Luckily, I wasn't coughing. It would have been worse if I had been coughing, sneezing and dealing with a runny nose at the same time. Well, in place of coughing, I got a smashing headache. But I guess that was still better. I didn't get up from the bed until after an hour. I lay there thinking about how quickly I went from feeling fine to feeling awful. It is surprising that barely hours after I complained about not liking to fall sick, I fell sick. Thank you, universe. I owe you one.
I spent the whole of Friday, rolling from one edge of the bed to another. When I finally got the strength, I stood up and made breakfast. I prepared fried yam, plantain, and eggs. I felt better after eating. One problem with dealing with cold is that it makes you feel weak. It is like a parasite draining all the energy you have in you. I couldn't even go 30 minutes without sneezing up to five times. I had a Hive Chess tourney last night. Despite feeling sick, I didn't want to miss out. At the time, the headache had reduced, but I still had a runny nose and was sneezing. Ever since the tourney started, I had my worst game last night. I donโt want to blame my losses on the fact that I wasn't feeling well, but I just hope I play better games next Friday.
I woke up this morning feeling... well, different. I had hoped that I would feel better after a good night's sleep. Unfortunately, I woke up with a runny nose and a high temperature. Just like yesterday, I struggled to get out of bed. I didn't feel like doing anything. I just wanted to relax and sleep all day. But how could I sleep when I was sneezing every 5 minutes? Every time I sneezed, it felt like my organs were coming out of my nose - it was that painful.I managed to prepare something to eat, and after that, I had the strength to go out. Luckily, my friends came over and brought medication for me. I took it earlier, and I'm hoping to get better as soon as possible. Cheers to feeling better! ๐ฅ
