Things are looking up a bit am I right? I mean BTC went back over $80,000 and HIVE even hit close to $.09 this past week. It's about time something started happening again. Something positive anyway. Meanwhile, in the real world, things are starting to green up and signs of winter are slowly starting to fade away. Where last weekend was a whirlwind of travel for @mrsbozz and I, this coming weekend is going to be a bit different.
We still plan on being quite busy, but we are going to be staying a little closer to home and focusing on getting the travel trailer ready for our first trip of the season over the Memorial Day weekend. We need to get the interior and exterior all cleaned up, all of our gear moved back in, and I need to pull apart the wheel bearings, inspect them, and then repack them with grease and put them back together.

I forgot to share this photo I took the other day while we were at the zoo lights lantern festival exhibit. That bright light in the center is the moon, but right below it is what I thought at first was a building. Turns out it was actually the cloud deck. It gave things a quite creepy feel as we were finishing up our walk. It was still pretty cool though.
I was having some issues with Coin Gecko for the past couple of weeks. For some reason the app was not working for me on my phone. Every time I would try to open it I was getting an error and nothing would load. I reached out to their technical support and after a bit of back and forth we were able to determine it was something specific with the app and my public IP address. After a little bit more conversation they were finally able to fix it.
I have to say, for such an insignificant issue that potentially only a single person was having, they handled it really well. I feel like they went the extra mile to make sure I was taken care of even though I am paying them nothing and the information they supply can be easily acquired somewhere else. My hats off to the team at Coin Gecko. Well done!
I've been continuing to play Splinterlands a bit more than I have in the past. Brawls still continue to be my favorite part of the game. I noticed a while ago that the clan I am part of wasn't filling the gold foil frays very consistently, so I decided to focus solely on building up my GF cards to fulfill that need.

We are far from a top tier guild, but it has been working out well for me. Sometimes I wonder what it might be like to be in a bigger guild that can offer more rewards, but I have been in this guild so long and there is a bit of loyalty there.

Meanwhile, I actually made it to Gold III in Frontier league or whatever it is called, but I am afraid to play anymore the rest of the season because I don't want to get knocked back down to Silver I and not be able to break back into the Gold tier. I seem to have streaks where I lose more than I win, so it's dangerous to keep playing. Which is too bad because there is still a lot of season left!
On the traditional finance side of things, I recently drafted the letters for my wife and myself asking for a raise. They have been turned over to the appropriate supervisor and now we just wait to see if they fulfill it or decline. I say negotiation, but it's not really the case. We can ask for whatever, but they basically say what they are going to give us. There isn't usually much back and forth if they decline. I ended up asking for more than I had planned this year, and if we both get our request, I think I am going to bump up @mrsbozz's retirement contributions a little bit.
The crypto travel platform Travala recently finished their latest quarterly rewards. Basically, you get tokens in return for doing specific tasks. Most of them take place on X and they are fairly easy to accomplish. I earned about 100 tokens this cycle which amounts to maybe $20 at current prices. It isn't great, but it's better than nothing. Perhaps one day it will be worth something again.
Sadly, I feel like Travala is starting to lose their edge in the crypto travel market. It seems a lot of other companies are starting to integrate travel options into their wallet or platform. This could be bad for Travala depending on how they play it.
Not much news about NuScale this week. Just the fact that they had their earnings call yesterday and it came in at -$.14 per share which is only a penny off from what was predicted. I'll choose to see that as some good news.
Finally, with the price of BTC recovering, the crypto mining platform GoMining is likely going to be pulling back some of it's discounts that they have had over the past few months. I took advantage of the current discounts and picked up another 8TH of mining power for about $100. That puts my main mining rig at about 108TH/15W. Similar rigs on the secondary market have an asking price of well into the four figure range. I don't plan on selling though. GoMining is a long term investment for me that I see appreciating as the price of BTC continues to go up.

Interesting how you have contract negotiations that you do for yourself, we have a Local 17 Union that does contract negotiations on our behalf, but they usually get increasingly less healthcare coverage and in terms of wages it is usually 1.5-2% COLA raise :)
My wife and I are both non-affiliated employees, so we don't have to deal with all the union stuff. Which is sometimes good, but sometimes bad. In the past we would ask for say a 7% raise and they would say, we are only giving the union a 3% raise, so that is what you are getting. Nevermind the fact people in the union were already making 10% more than us anyway. They have been better about it lately. I don't think I would want to be in the union anyway. For example, we have an administrators union that I could technically be part of, and in the past the person who had my wife's job before her was in the union. However, there was a time where they needed to say to the public they cut an administrator, so that guy got booted and my wife got his job. It's a dangerous position to be in if you don't have numbers to protect you. I probably didn't explain it really well, but I didn't want this to become a book.
