Selling Some More Valuable LEGO Mini-figures, Plastic Can Be Expensive

It's been some time now since I have featured any LEGOS in a post, and it just felt overdue. I still have a huge stock of LEGOS I've purchased at thrift stores and yard sales over the years that need sorting. But with an uptick in business with my part to consulting job (now full time,) I just haven't had the time.

Recently my sister sent me some LEGOS to sell for her, her son had left laying around the house and had no interest in them. So I made some time to dig through some the stuff she sent me. Turns out she had some valuable items in there. I've already sold one mini-figure on her account for more than $225! People will pay crazy money for rare LEGOS!

When I do create these post I usually like to share some of the most rare LEGOS ever produced. The most valuable by far is a solid 14K gold Star Wars C-3PO. Only five were produced to celebrate the 30th year of Star Wars in 2007. All five were given away in contests in early 2008. They are extremely hard to find and currently valued at $200,000!

So if you have the $200,000 to burn, and by some miracle you can find one for sale you can own the rarest of the LEGO collectibles! It's a little outside my budget... Besides, they come up for sale so infrequently you would have better luck finding a gold nugget in your own backyard! Also not very likely to happen, especially not in my yard! I've metal detected my yard before and found nothing but garbage, no gold...

First the LEGO mini-figure that I have already sold for my sister is Clone Commander Woffe, and extremely rare mini-figure that went for more than $225!

It's an awesome mini-figure, I was glad to make my sister some extra cash. I'm not taking a cut, just doing it to help her out. Next up came from the same set, a Clone Trooper 104th Battalion 'Wolfpack' valued at around $150 or more depending on condition. This one sadly has a tiny crack on the side of the torso so I've had to cut the asking price.

Whenever little boys play with LEGOS it a miracle if they survive undamaged. This one wasn't so lucky!

There were a couple others worth something, in the sub $20 range, but not bad for a piece of plastic! This one is a Clone Trooper 41st Elite Corps, pretty nice one. Uncommon, but not really rare...

This one is a 41st Elite Corps Clone Trooper, but with a different helmet. I believe it rode one of those speeder bikes judging by the helmet. Also nice, but not too valuable.

Buying and selling LEGOS can be a profitable hobby, if you know what you're doing. Condition of the mini-figures is everything, dents, cracks, or scratches kill your profits. Sets are great too as long as all the parts are there, but always check prices online before you buy. And keep in mind one piece missing can make a huge difference in selling price. Most pieces are replaceable and inexpensive, but shipping on them is expensive.

If your child left a bunch of LEGOS and isn't interested in them, it's a great way to start. That's how I got started! Those plastic bricks and figures can be very valuable!

That will wrap up my LEGO post for today. Please feel free to ask any questions or leave any comments below. As always thank you for all of your support, it's greatly appreciated! Have a great day!
