Book review : Food Conference.

Hello .. !!
My dear Hive friends,
I am @samadbro08 from Bangladesh. Today is Sunday ,November 09/2025

Hi everyone, how are you? I hope everyone is well. Today we will talk about a Bangla book review called Food Conference. This will be quite good for those who can read Bengali.I hope Bengali everyone like it .Let's get started.

'Food Conference' is a timeless satirical work of Bengali literature, which has sharply highlighted the deep wounds and inconsistencies of society through humor. This book, written based on the terrible events of 1943 and the political and social context of that time, has struck the moral degradation existing in the character of the Bengali nation and the indifference of the leaders with the sharp sword of irony. Today I will present you a review of this book.

The story "Food Conference" is basically set around a conference, where important issues such as food shortage, famine, poverty, and food distribution are supposed to be discussed. But the interesting thing is that those present at the conference are more busy with their own interests, positional pride, political calculations, and rhetorical prowess than solving real problems. The story shows that where millions of people are suffering due to lack of food, the meetings and seminars of the powerful are just a show of words and a drama to protect their interests.

'Food Conference' is a storybook, with a total of nine stories. In each of the works, including the book's title story 'Food Conference', the author presents a realistic picture of the society of the time. Especially the food problem during World War II and the ridiculous and corrupt attempts of politicians and bureaucrats to solve it are the main subject of this book. The author, with extraordinary literary skills, has exposed the cruel indifference, corruption, and He highlights the abuse of power. Again, in the story 'Food Conference', he compares the leaders who failed to manage the famine with the characters of animals like 'Shere-Bangla', 'Mahish-Bangla', 'Kutta-e-Bangla', 'Janwar-e-Bangla' etc. and reveals their character traits. At the end of the story, the quote "Janwar-e-Bangla Zindabad, Manush-e-Bangla Murdabad!" carries the pain of the extreme degradation of the national character.
'Food Conference' not only provides food for laughter, but also forces the reader to think deeply. The relevance of this book, written around the inconsistencies of almost eighty years ago, has not diminished even today. It is a 'must read' book, which helps us recognize our character weaknesses, corruption and social inconsistencies as a Bengali nation.
If you like socially conscious, sharply satirical and deeply life-oriented writing, then Abul Mansur Ahmed's 'Food Conference will not disappoint you.For those who like to read social satire, political satire, or thoughtful stories, “Food Conference” is an excellent work. It is not just a story it is a literary mirror that reveals the open form of society. Today I am finishing my writing in Adda. Thank you all.
