THE RIGHT THING AT THE WRONG TIME

I remember my mum used to make fufu (fermented cassava) to sell and she was also a clothe merchant, she goes to the popular Onitsha market and gets clothes and sewing materials to sell to people around, and when she comes back it was all mixed feelings of joy and sorrow. Joy because we would get tips and all from my mum every time she comes back and the part of sorrow is that we have to segment the goods into their different sections and it takes a whole day of none stop segmentation and if we decided to rest it will take two or three days. This both simple and hectic excersice always brings my family together.

On this day, my mum traveled as usual but she wasn't coming back that same day she was to lodge and and then come back in two days time. I and my cousin sister who lived with us decided to do something nice for our mum, we quickly woke up the next day and started preparing the fufu(fermented cassava) because we wanted to impress our mum and let her know that we are good kids. So we finished preparing the fufu(fermented casava) we took it to the market and also sent some to the people she supplies but before we left my Dad called my mum and told her the situation on ground and she screamed.

Who sent you? I already calculated what I was going to sell for the week when I come back and now you are going to spoil my plan for the week. Immediately she was done talking power was restored, my cousin sighed because we had shows we could watch that day if we had not gone ahead to prepare that fufu(fermented cassava) I felt pained, but we still need to sell off the ones we made and we quickly took everything to the market and made the sales we were so happy and eager about it because, (1) there was light (2) we know our mum will be proud. We just had to sell and give her profits but not below her usual profit. We got to the market and finished selling on time and ran back home, but those wicked people seized the power half way our show and it was painful.

My mum came back and the first thing she said was "who asked you guys to make the fufu(fermented fufu)" . I replied and said mummy what has happened has happened my Dad said the same thing, the next thing she asked was where's the money and I gave everything to her and she said it was #3,000 short, but all the same I did a good thing for the wrong reasons.
N.B : I would always say my mum is a strong woman who gave birth to six kids and still housed a lot of others and did several side hustles to support my Dad. Trust me I'm a soft babe that ain't for me.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. See you soon. 🤗

peace out ✌️
