There is this situation with ColdCard where it had a shitty algorithm to generate the 24 words. It wasn't as random as it should be and some people had their bitcoin hacked.

So what can you do?

Never trust the wallet to generate the 24 words.

Here is what you do instead:

this is the gold standard, truly random words.

Also, always use a good passphrase 16 characters plus, letters, numbers, something random.

Do these two things and you will never have to worry about the cold card. situation.

How does it work exactly?

Easy, you put all the possible words in a jar, little bits of plastic. You pull out 23 and write them down on paper. For the 24th, you can use Sparrow Wallet or something else to help you pick the last word.

Then also add your good passphrase.

As a person who holds...a lot of crypto, this is how I do it.

If you don't want to bother with these plastic words, you can also try rolling dice, have to do it 99 times, so it's a bit tedious, the jar of words is much nicer.
