Chidinma's Laundry #Neoxian prompts #31.

The day had Started on a very bright note with the sun shining as if its life depended on it. Chidinma had a heap of laundry to do so she decided to go wash at the stream, washing at the stream will ease her the stress of fetching water from the well and carrying it on her head all the way back home before she finally starts to wash.

She thought washing at the stream will not only ease her of the stress of fetching water, it will also allow her to dry her clothes on the grasses by the river bank making them dry on time after washing. Also,she planned to use that period to hunt for snails and some wild fruits.

She had imagined cooking a delicious and spicy pot of okro soup from her catch. She also thought of snacking on the wild fruit as a replacement for her lunch because her mother had already said she was not going to give her anything for lunch till she finished washing the clothes.

Before going out in the morning, mum chidinma was talking to her…... .Dinma, when was the last time you Washed your clothes? Your dirty clothes are littered all across your room, if you did not wash those clothes before the day runs out and fold them in your box, do not expect any meal from me as lunch or dinner.

Chdinima responded saying mum I am sorry for keeping my clothes unwashed for so long, it was because I had been preparing for the just concluded examination and I really gave it my all. Don't worry mummy, after breakfast, I will take it to the stream to wash.

With that, Chidinma's mum left for the market while Chidinma did all her house chores. By the time she finished her chores, it was already twelve in the afternoon so she quickly dashed to the stream with her dirty clothes packed in a basin on her head and a bucket on her head.

When she got to the stream she noticed that the breeze was cold but she paid no attention to it, then she thought loudly saying ah!This breeze is so cool. Who knows, maybe if I finish all I have planned to do on time I may rest under the Neem tree and enjoy this cool breeze for about twenty minutes before going home.

Few minutes after she started washing, the weather became seriously cloudy that she had to pack her clothes and rush back home because she thought it was going to start to rain soon and the rain was going to be very heavy judging by how heavy pregnant the sky was.

On getting back home, the wind blew away the rain and it became sunny agian. This time around, Chidinma washed her clothes by the well beside their house. After washing and drying the clothes, she had a smile on her face and said mum would have thought I will be discouraged by the weather and will be suprise to see my dirty clothes all washed

And who could have thought it was going to rain today given that we are in January and who could have thought that it was not going to rain with the level of the clouds that were gathered few hours ago…....what an unbelievable day.
