The onboarding effort has been going great! I am overwhelmed with the interest and all the help in making it a success ... is something I wish I could say
But this one is going to be ugly, there is no sense in hiding it though as I am sure it will come to light and some of you may have already noticed.
I am really tired and disappointed with hive, I really try to go all out for this chain and it seems futile, hive has turned into a "toxic workplace" most hive users are complacent and are just here collecting their vote, I am not saying I have been the greatest hive users, there is always room for improvement, but given my situation I think I have been going above and beyond.
There is just so much I could say here and it's not great, and I think some of you even if only on a subtle level feel this sentiment.
what does this mean for DUO
Well its more or less business as usual, I am not quitting on hive I am just done giving my all for this chain and will just collect my upvote like the most hive users as this chain slowly crumbles.
So don't expect any new initiatives or me trying to do something for DUO outside of what was set out in the whitepaper, I been doing a lot of that and I did not really mind but if even DUO stackers and supporters can't bother to try to help with the onboarding effort what am I doing here?
I have put up a lot of my time and money into making this project great along with the rest of the team and it has been awesome but now when its time to do some onboarding to save this chain you guys leave me hanging.
Closing thoughts
I am filled with so much sadness right now in regards to this situation, I have not posted a hive post on my personal blog in 2 days, that is wild but honestly I am so fed up, I was going crazy on threads and snaps trying to breath life into the chain and that was offsetting the earning and was also fun but, I am done with all that, someone else can try and save this chain.
I also made my first posts on blurt, I still have a lot to learn and research about it but so far the energy on there is so much better, the only place on hive where I somewhat see positive vibes and hope is on inleo threads...

@bitcoinman thank you for sharing your honest thoughts here. I can understand that you feel disappointed on the actual support that you experience for your hard work.
While my exposure on hive is limited to a few communities - I experience a lot of good vibes and even attempts to create real live community that spread positivity (especialy in Venezuela) but also your hard work spreads a lot of love and provide hope for the future of hive. I would love to see if we can connect the positive communities and make a collective effort.

I can understand you somehow especially when you want to push something in this case the onboarding. I asked you recently how I could help because I have no idea how to on-board people. I tried in the past years where I'm on hive but no one in real life seems interested. The find it cool and nice and congrats me but will not join. You're also right that hive changed but that is how things do. They change over time. Look what Inleo have become.

The onboarding process is simply too difficult, and the ones who do sign up just have a learning curve that is way too steep. It is offsetting most new users.
And a lot of Hive is changing for the worse, if you ask me. It's killing the mood

Yeah I know. I got over 50 sign ups over Inleo at some point but I think just four or five have been active for less than 10 threads and then disappeared. Very sad!

I understand your current mindset, and I often go through the same one, I think we shouldn't have too many expectations about HIVE as a community. A small group of users makes the biggest profits, the others earn the beer money or peanuts. But there are interesting projects or ideas here and it's better to ignore the toxic stuff otherwise it can indeed make us sick.

Hive is an interesting place for sure...It's fascinating watching the ebbs and flows of positivity and negativity. I was late to the Hive party, and had a lot of gusto when I joined. I expected a small community of users to support and help build my ideas, but found things to be somewhat 'tribal' and overall pretty negative. Even within Hive everyone has their niche and seem to stick to it. Perhaps people are feeling similar to you as well. There is overall negativity and not enough support.
Is stepping away the answer? Does that combat the negative side of Hive or allow it to continue to fester and grow? What would it take for people to truly come together and build Hive towards its true intent and purpose? The social aspect, community building, support, and, of course, monetary benefits are there to be utilised and enjoyed.
There will always be those trying to tear others down, using their 'power' to control the narrative, but if people start coming together, working for a better Hive, then things can and will improve. Too many people are singled out and pushed away one by one. We need to come together and make Hive the Hive we all want and expect.
