We lived in Camp Pendleton during the southridge quake back in 1994. That was our intro to earthquakes. WOW! Then we moved to North Carolina and went through a few Hurricanes. All this to say, I know how it can bring things to a complete hault to an area in a country with plenty like ours. From what I understand, there are many struggling to get help there right now. Their government is failing them and criminal elements are taking advantage.

Those big quakes can be scary! Hurricanes aren't much fun either... Venezuela's infrastructure has been robbed by the communists over the last 25 years so it's no wonder there is little money to respond. The US Military is in there helping out now from what I hear!

There are rescue workers from all over the world from what I saw on the news. I think the biggest challenge now is housing for those without homes now, along with food and water. Hopefully they can ensure security of that.
