While scrolling through TikTok, I came across a question that asked: If you had to choose between saving your child or 1,000 strangers, who would you save?

I checked the comment section, and I wasn’t surprised to see someone saying he would save the 1,000 strangers because his child is only one life, and he could always have more children.

I need no soothsayer to tell me that the person who made such a comment isn’t a father, because a father would never say that.

People often say things that sound noble until they are faced with that reality. That is when they realize that family always comes first.

One thousand strangers is even a small number. If I had to choose between my child and 2 billion strangers, I would choose my child.

I won’t miss the 1,000 strangers, but I would definitely miss the innocent face of my child while he is asleep and the beautiful smile on his face when he wakes up.

My own flesh and blood means more to me than all the strangers in the world combined, so he will always have my vote whenever I have to choose between him and the world.

Life is only truly meaningful when we are with the people we love. They don’t have to do anything to earn our love, yet when the need arises, they will do everything they can for our sake.

When you are in trouble, billions of strangers may not even notice your struggle or be in a position to help, but a loved one can be the one who stands by you, comforts you, and refuses to abandon you when everyone else does.
