The Good, the Bad and the Peaceful

Recently, I found myself in a new location. This new location will be a permanent place for me because it is my house.

There are certain things I love about the place, and there are also a few disadvantages. However, most of those disadvantages are only noticeable because I am not financially buoyant enough at the moment to fix them.

When it comes to the things I like about the place, I love how peaceful the community is. The morning and evening cold are also a new experience for me, and I actually enjoy it.

I also get to have a garden where I can plant crops and eat fresh food. I have already planted some vegetables, and I expect them to be ready for consumption in a few months. There is something satisfying about knowing that I can eventually walk into my garden and pick something I planted myself.

When it comes to the two things that are lacking right now, they are electricity and network.

The electricity situation is bad. They only supply power once or twice a week, and to add salt to the injury, the current is usually very low because the community has not done what is necessary to improve the situation.

But when there is a problem, there is always a solution.

I found a Jaza store that provides power banks to users for as little as ₦200 per day. You can return the power bank once it is low and collect another one. I actually love their service.

The only problem is that they also rely on solar energy to charge the power banks. So, whenever there is not enough sunlight, it creates a lot of traffic at the store, like the one in the image below.

At this point, only solar can save me here. And it is already part of my plan. Once I have the funds, I will get it done.

Regarding the network, Airtel works well here, while MTN is practically useless. So, my Airtel line has officially become my main line for now. Hopefully, someday MTN will improve its service in this area.
