I watched a video on Tiktok today where a man goes around to beg for food from different traders, and most of them ignore him while some even turn it to violence by trying to hit him with a stick.
It is among those stingy traders that he also found one kind woman who helped him, she gave him what she was selling for free since he claimed that he was hungry, that act from the woman melted a lot of heart and it can be seen in the comment box, the man rewarded the woman with a huge amount of money but there was a particular comment that says the man ought to give those ones who didn't help him something too because he did not know the reason why they acted that way or maybe they are going through tough times or do not have enough to give.
I was not convinced by that statement, do people only give when they have it in excess? True givers give even when they are not in a good position to help.
Some years ago, when I was still teaching, I remember a fateful day, It was a weekend, Sunday precisely. I had only 50 Naira with me and I had a private lesson to take that evening, I left home that day in the hope that after I finished teaching, I would use the 50 Naira to buy snacks and eat and loan money from my boss in school the next day.
On my way, one small boy approached me and begged me for money because he was hungry, in my mind if only this boy knew that I was also hungry and I only had 50 Naira which was not enough to feed me, but somehow I felt pity for the boy and I don't even know the spirit controlling me at that moment, but I gave him my last card, He thanked me and left, I looked back after few seconds but I no longer see him, oh well I still have hope that I would see money tomorrow, I won't die of hunger in one night.
I did my job and on my way home, when I reached that particular spot I gave the boy money, I received an alert on my phone, it was 15,000 Naira! It was the source of the money that made me believe miracles exist. True givers never lack because the source was from MMM, a Ponzi scheme I participated in that has already crashed. The whole country knows about it already so no one is paying anyone again, so the 15 000 coming from there is nothing but a miracle!
If I had not helped the boy, maybe it wouldn't have happened, my faith was being tested and I passed.
The main reason I gave him my last card was that I hate it when people are hungry, I have been in that position and know how it feels. I was also in that position when he approached me but I have hope.
In The video I watched, the woman who helped the man was not any better than the rest, she is just kind, and kind people do not think before helping, their heart does the giving first.

It's good to be kind. True, the country can be frustrating, but then we can try our best. I think miracles happen in all form and we can be tested at any time.
Well, let me say from another angle. I’m a market woman. And in a day, I have nothing less than 10people who beg from me
Some of them are fit to work but they won’t so the sight of beggars sometimes annoy me cos how many of them do I want to help?
Do you get?
It just shows that true givers don’t wait to have plenty before they help. You gave your last 50 naira, and somehow, a miracle happened, you got 15,000 Naira from a crashed Ponzi scheme you participate. That’s proof that kindness comes back in unexpected ways.
