At one point or the other we’ve all been at that point or heard stories where a wrong had to be done for the right reasons.
Most times if it doesn’t backfire, everyone tends to be ok with it but when there’s a counter effect, then everyone begins to question the motive or reason behind the wrong for the right and the issues of morality begins to spring up here and there.
Sometime ago, one of my mentors told me a story to buttress this point. He said that he worked at petroleum refinery after his secretary school as a drivers mate before he gained admission into the university.
One of those days, he traveled in a Friday out if town, hoping to come back with a night bus on Sunday and be able to meet up with work on Monday morning. On his way back, their bus spoilt on the way and he couldn’t get to work the next morning.
The worst happened. Their national regional supervisor from the headquarters came to the office that same Monday morning to take appraisal of the work and the staff and he wasn’t on duty.
His manger was asked to account for him and the manger in a bid to cover up for him lied that he was at work that morning and had forgotten his ID card and that he went home to get it. He had to lie to help him save his work else he stood the change of loosing his job.
He came in late that afternoon to work and his manger called him and told him how he had lied to cover up for him and that it was not his turn to lie and ensure their stories match. He told him to ensure he said the same thing so that he wouldn’t get him into trouble for trying to cover up for him.
So here’s the catch, if they found out that his manger lied, both of them are likely to loose their jobs. So what should he do?
He said he didn’t want to lie. That he had been trying to preach to his manger as a believer through his lifestyle. He said he went home that day and started praying about the situation. He told God that he doesn’t want to lie. That he was going to tell the truth but that he also doesn’t want to put his manager at risk. He asked God to help intervene and let their supervisor not query the situation further.
The next day at work, the supervisor sent for him and asked him the reason for his absence that morning and he said the truth. The supervisor was angry and threatened to query him but that was the end of the matter.
The supervisor didn’t bring up the issue again and his manger never asked him about his response. That was how the issue died.
But what if it didn’t play out this way? I believe in being on the side of the truth always cos it will always save.

That was a risky jump and I know a few situations like this that didn't go so well. But thankfully things didn't escalate to the point of no return.
Yep
Thankfully 😅

The supervisor lied for your mentor because he was protectign his job. However your mentor thought it was better to not complicate things by also lying. Lying takes too much effort and scheming. Things could have gone entirely wrong if the supervisor was a mean person.

My mentor didn’t go with the lie because he said he didn’t want to compromise..he told the truth to their supervisor and everything was ok. He wasn’t in support of the lie.
I just thank God that the prayer worked if not, the truth vs the lie would have complicated the issues.
Yes ma’am and it’s also a great story not to compromise our faith as believers. Thanks. I enjoyed the prompt
Yeah, the same question.
Luck was on his side and it seems God answered his prayer
