ECHOES OF GRATITUDE

We always have our eyes set on the next big thing that would make our lives better or seem more valuable that the blessings we are surrounded by begins to shrink and become so little before our eyes.
Today i choose to be grateful. Grateful for those things that money cannot buy (or can) that i already possess.
Riches is defined or quantified by the eyes that is looking. What you have and seems like nothing to you might be someone else's die-hard Prayer point.
To the lonely, friends are wealth, to saddist laughter is wealth, to the rich it might just be family, to the sick health and the list goes on.

LIFE
Though it might sound cliche, being alive and in good health is one underrated blessing. When you go to the Hospital and see the critical conditions some people are living in, you would appreciate good health more. Even to the basics like breathing without having to buy oxygen, being able to sleep, eat, run, walk, and do things on your own.

There was a time i was baking and the gas from the oven exploded with fire on my right hand. Though it wasn't severe, it didn't seem like it at the moment because i was in so much pain. I cried and reminisced on how i was so care free some minutes back. I didn't really appreciate being pain-free until i got burnt. That's how it is sometimes with us, we don't get to appreciate the blessings until it's taken away from us.

FAMILY
Here's another big thing I am grateful for. Life seems more tougher when you're going through it alone. Family are people we've grown up and are familiar with that we don't get to see that strong and important presence they bring to our lives.
The support, companionship, counsel, love, presence and all that it comes with has this essence it adds to our existence.
Family teaches us to love inspite. Family tells an unbreakable-love-bond story. How you still choose to love even when they are being annoying. People who are automatically involved in anything that concerns you either by choice or not (bounded by blood). Family is a gift , a treasure even, it's not really the same if you don't have a family or friends who stick up as family.

PROGRESS
A journey of a thousand mile begins with a step just as a journey to millions begins with thousands.
Today i choose to be grateful for where i am. Though i may not have a private jet, multi-million house or a luxurious car yet, I've made progress!
I'm not where i used to be or who i used to be. I've improved mentally, spiritually and physically.
Even though i am not where i desire to be, where i am doesn't look out of track.

Today i hope you can count your blessings, name them one by one and it will surprise you what the Lord has done!
