Dreams, Prayers, and Expectations for My Country This Year

As we've been ushered into a new year, there are lots of things I'd love to see that affect this year, both in my personal life and in my family and country at large, and it'll be a dream come true seeing them all materialize. So in light of that, we all know the majority of our African leaders aren't doing enough, and this has taken a toll on the citizens and the quality of life. So in order not to weigh down our government actions and inaction, once again I'm renewing my faith with the hope that they'll take positive steps in necessary places that'll shape our lives for better.

So talking about the things I'd like to see the government of my country do, there are actually three things I'll be talking about today, so without further ado, let's get into them one after the other. First on the list is for the country to curb and contain insecurity issues in my beloved country. It's no longer funny or safe with how we hear of different issues playing out in different parts of the country. In the past we only heard about it happening in the far Northeast, but the story has changed now; literally every part of the country isn't safe due to insecurity from kidnappers, bandits, terrorists, and the like. So making our beloved country a safe haven is the first thing I'd like them to do.

Second on the list is for them to take unrelenting effort towards our energy sector so we can have a stable and uninterrupted power supply. It's a shame that a nation of our pedigree, resources, and prestige would be the one in such a situation where some areas haven't had electricity for the past six months, and yet, the government keeps praising themselves, saying they've done a lot. Meanwhile, the nation is in darkness due to poor power supply and the like. So I'll be glad if the government will take this aspect seriously so we can start having adequate electricity that can help make different aspects of life easier.

Last on the list is the aspect of wages being paid to workers in my country. I think it's a disgrace that such a peanut is being paid to workers as a minimum wage in a nation blessed with many mineral resources. So what I'm expecting the country to do is to increase the minimum wage to what other top world nations are paying their staffs; we deserve better, and the government should be ready to pay us well if they expect us to deliver service to the best of our strength. Let's see how it goes, because although there's no assurance they'll do it, I'm hopeful it'll come to pass.

That's about it on the three things I hope to see and pray the government of my country will do before the year runs out. Thanks so much for your time, have a blessed day ahead.

I see this as a very honest write-up.
You spoke the mind of many people (Africans) with your points, especially in insecurity and power supply, these are the things that affect our lives directly.

I just do hope that our will take responsibilities so we citizens can enjoy the blessings of our nation.
Thank you for sharing these expectations of yours. Well done 🤗

You had outlined the major problems that has remained a treat to all citizens as a whole in (Africa) the ugliness has overstayed for too long and government keeps saying that they are working on it but their effort is never enough.

As a government, this are the responsibilities that they needs to address and I just hope that they takes real action to put an end it.
