My career path has not been really smooth. Initially, I was anticipating a smooth path before going for my service program; all I thought was that I was going to end up in a nice organization with an amazing boss, but life has a way of kicking us in the butt.
I ended up with a boss who was harsh. She was a type of succumbing person; she abused both the old and the young without feeling remorseful.
There was a company cleaner who was 57 years old, and he was way older than my boss because she is just 30 years old. I was sitting down in my office when I started hearing noises. It turned out to be my boss, she was yelling at the man she threw papers and other dirt on his face because he couldn't resume early because he wasn't feeling well.
When I saw the scenerio, I knew I had just landed myself in trouble, and the only way for me to go about this trouble is to find a way to survive.
I summon courage to smile anytime she abuses me. I will just smile without getting angry. With time, she ends up saying, "I'm just surprised by this girl; anytime I abuse or curse her, she will just stand there smiling. and of all corpers, she comes early to work." I turned out to be the favorite co-worker of my harsh boss.
Another case was the case of me interning at an organization; it was a virtual internship.
Initially, they promised to give us a stipend as an intern, but later on, it turned out that we were not given anything. Other interns left, but I opted to stay. I thought about the experience I wanted to gain, and especially in Nigeria, you can't get any job without having work experience, so I made up my mind to stay.
I wasn't bothered by their money; all I cared about was how to get my work done. After a while, the owner of the company called me and said that he liked the way I had summoned courage to get my work done even when I got nothing, so he eventually promised me that he was going to get me a place after the internship.
The lesson I learned from this is to be patient even when things doesn't work out as planned .Looking ahead, I am confident that the skills and resilience acquired during these trying times will serve as a solid foundation for future endeavors.
My career journey, marked by unexpected twists and turns, has equipped me with a valuable toolkit for navigating the complexities of the professional world.
Diligence at work is often rewarding when it seems like no one is watching.
Smile kills any form of negativity too, it's good you wore a smile to hide the insult you were receiving and for the second job experience it is good you worked wholeheartedly even though you weren't getting much from the job. This is a good read.
Yes that's true, it's the lesson I had learnt. Thank you for commenting

It's not really easy my brother, I saw hell🤣🤣, but all the same thanks to God.
There is always a way to handle difficult people. Sometimes, it's our impatience and pride that ends up making us fall victim of what others suffer from.
I just love how you took the insults as nothing and did all you could to avoid your boss's problem. I once lost a big opportunity because I couldn't handles harsh people but I have learned now.
