AAL IZ WELL - 3 IDIOTS

Movies are a great pastime for me. For fun. For relaxation. For knowledge development. I think I am open to whatever genre and have seen quite an number of movies, of which I have come to love;

• Olympus has fallen
• Ijele
• White House down
• Coming to America.
But, here, I'll be sharing my all-day, everyday best.

This was on the rave a few years back and is arguably the movie that made Aamir Khan our Indian movie sweetheart. After he had acted in this film, I had gone along to see some of his other features. Plus this movie opened my eyes and mind to the many classic Bollywood productions.

In this movie, 3 idiots, the story follows the lives of engineering students -three in particular- from different backgrounds through their college years and beyond.

Majorly focuses on how parents and other factors forces their kids to go through a career-study path which is not borne out of passion of the students but borne of pressure by the parents; especially so that they can be accorded a certain regard.

It also highlights the importance of true education, creativity and following one’s passion. But we get to see the educational system demonstrated in all its glory(or gory), it's flaws, the loopholes, the pressures on students to follow a set design which evidently cannot work for everybody.

And in 3 idiots, you have these three bestfriends: Ranchoddas, Raju and Farhan try to fight the system.
How far can they go?

My favorite part of the movie, three idiots, has to be...errm...I’m sorry, I don't have one favorite. Has to be every one scene. Every one!

But..

• I love the lisping technique employed by professor Virus and how his students (Millimetre too) parody him.

• I enjoyed the facial expression on the faces of Rancho and Farhan when they visited Raju’s house and his mum who was kneading dough, used the same rolling stick she was usinf for the dough to rub the sick man’s chest. Bleh!

• I could never forget how the guys helped the Professors daughter put to birth with a vacuum cleaner. It was amazing and the professors words were unexpected and emotional.

• An emotional scene was, Raju falling off the high rise building, because of the news the professor gave him. I think of Joy Lobo,the guy who committed suicide and it makes me so sad how much pressure young persons endure book and opened my eyes to the reality that we live in.

• The part where Raju and Farhan both nailed their jobs and came to the hospital to see Rancho. That scene! The emotions. I entirely forget I am a strong man when I get to that scene. Lol.

The message In the movie is crystal clear.
I love the song themes, all of them.
From far back when I first saw the movie, even until now, the emotions keep heightening for each time I see it.
For everytime I play this movie, again, I get to see other perspectives and new things, in general.

Long story short, 3 idiots has a captivating storyline, memorable cast, perplexing twists and yet, is a masterpiece.
The mood of this film changes very rapidly from joyous to depressing to comedic, etc. A basketful of emotions.
Always keeping me on the edge of my seat, trying in vain to conjure up what the next scene would begat.

And, if I should describe this movie in one word, it would be.....TIMELESS.

Too many beautiful scenes to behold.
A perfect balance between humour and emotions.
A burst of colours.
Great music.
Lessons upon lessons to be learned.

I need not tell you that this would be worth your time.
