I supposed he would be lenient with me, after all he's my uncle, clearly I was absolutely wrong. I thought I was the only one dismayed at his uncalled demonstration of impartiality not until, I managed to stood up with buttocks and back bruised and oozing of fainty drops of blood. The looks on my fellow latecomers echoed louder than their words would have done, "If he can flog his niece this badly, who then are we?We are doomed!".

I was an early riser back when I was an high schooler, I woke up as early as 5am every morning except for weekends, in spite of this, my status as a perpetual latecomer didn't change,Why?
I usually used close to 30minutes in the bathroom
Dressed up for another 30minutes
Feast on my breakfast for 15minutes
I almost forget this,press my uniform with charcoal iron,using another 30minutes
Just to mention few of the chores i have to do every blessed week days. Mind you, my home to school are like two worlds apart; far apart as heaven and earth and my dear legs, were my Legedes Benz,lol.
So tell me, how could I have beat all these hurdles and resume to school early in the morning?I know I could had been more faster in doing my morning chores but that's not me,I love taking my time to do things and does it,at my own pace I'm not from Russia, so no rushing.

The pitiful looks on the bystanders,who were my teachers weren't in any comforting as they intended.
"I'm in pain, gosh!" I cried within me.
All through that day,I didn't stepped out my classroom neither was I able to sit properly on my chair; one buttock was down and the other was hanging in pain in the air.
The pain lasted for days yet, I had to endure it silently without my parents notice because, their knowledge of what happened will do no good rather add more fuel to the fire; they do not approved of my bad lateness habit.
Three days past, my bruises healed and I vowed never to go to school late again, I got an hack at managing my time better.

A rod/cane is also needed when trying to weaken a bad habit already formed in a child; when the rod is spared, a child becomes spoilt.

However I must say, inflicting punishment on a child using cane doesn't necessarily implies that, the child will yield to corrections,some kids will get so use to that kind of punishment and in turn, build a tough skin as a result of it.
Beat the kid all day long,he or she will not feel remorseful neither will you see a single drop of tears on his or her face while on the other hand, you will be the one in more pain,incurring impromptu expenses of buying analgesic drugs to help you relieve the pains from your worn out arms.

Knowing what works for a child
before inflicting any punishment is the sure way to go instead of unnecessary flogging with no change of behavior.
