In today’s fast-changing world, practical skills often seem more valuable than memorized theories. Should education systems focus more on real-world skills instead of traditional theoretical knowledge?
After my time in school? The next slogan that was permeating the entire internet space and our academic workspace was the slang “school na scam” to say it properly the way it’s been said.
The question remains is school scam? My answer is yes or no depending on the context you are looking at it from. For people who are pressing professiona courses who have the intentions to practice the course they read and make a lib from their profession, school is not scam that is if they studied well and know what they are doing in school.
They actually need the knowledge that school would offer for them to become specialists in that area of their profession not mentioning the fact that most of the curriculum we are presently studying school is outdated but at least its better than nothing.
I had to say for those who know what they are studying in school because obviously not everyone knows why they are in school include so called professionals who are studying professional courses.
A lot of these people do not hive themselves to their studies and therefore come out half baked. I know of an optometrist who cannot comfortably prescribed a drug for a patient. The last time he did, the patient almost went blind and it’s their cohorts that forget razor blades and items inside peoples stomachs after operating on them.
Now over to those who are not reading or did not read professional courses. What shall we at of school. Right from our NYSC camp time, they has already started drumming in our ears to start acquiring skills that has nothing to do with our line of studies.
The question if we need these skills when we are going to face the real world, is it not better to revamp the educational system in a way that we can start learning these skills in school instead of bombarding us with theoretical knowledge that we would never use in our entire life time.
The world is ever changing and right now, practical skills are more valuable than theoretical knowledge. People are opting for people with more skills than ever. The person who took first position in the class will work do the one that has skills in the field.
I read chemistry a course I don’t understand what they are talking about and up till now, I had never used that course for anything reasonable practically.
Educational is meant to prepare people for real life experiences and work. In practical ways, it would be better if the students are sorted out and encouraged to read courses that resonates with their passion and skills.
Above all, the school curriculum should be more practical oriented and more skilled courses should be introduced into the educational system so that children’s at a very early stage can begin to align themselves with what comes naturally to them.
They should be encouraged to read courses they are passionate about and learn accompanying skills so as to be up to date members of the society on graduation than just been a bundle of theories with no single practical experience.
When they come out with only practical knowledge and are faced with real life auto that requires skill and hey are found wanting, then they begin to scream that school is scam. That’s why a lot of people are sending their wards abroad for better education.

I hope the patient is okay? For this doctor to have prescribed wrongly? That’s even more reason why he needs school. I totally understand your point but I don’t think school is scam in anyway. Even though we’re not taught how to fight real life battles, trust me, there are things you can easily handle that an illiterate wouldn’t know where to start from.
Well for the patient another doctor had do another prescription for him. And yea that’s why I said for people who are doing professional courses, it’s worth it…hence it’s a maybe or maybe not Depending on the angle you are judging from😁
