When I first discovered Hive, I honestly didn’t know what I was getting myself into.
I was simply looking for a platform where I could write, share my experiences, interact with people and potentially earn from my content. Little did I know that joining Hive would become a small but meaningful journey of learning, patience and discovery.
I started my journey with Ecency, and one of the first things I had to figure out was how everything worked. From creating and publishing my first post to understanding keys, Hive Keychain, Resource Credits and voting, there was definitely a learning curve.
At some point, I even wondered why I couldn't publish because my Resource Credits were low. That experience taught me that Hive isn't just about writing posts; there is a whole ecosystem behind the scenes that you need to understand.
Then came my first votes.
Seeing those first few votes on my introduction post felt surprisingly exciting. It wasn't necessarily about the amount attached to the votes. It was the feeling that someone had actually read what I wrote and decided that it was worth supporting.
And then I saw my first earnings.
It started from just a few cents, and honestly, I was happy about it. Later, seeing the amount grow made me even more curious about how Hive rewards are calculated and why some posts receive much higher rewards than others.
Instead of just chasing earnings, I started asking questions.
How can I improve my writing?
What kind of content do people enjoy?
How do communities work?
How can I make better use of tags?
When is the best time to post?
How do I build genuine connections instead of simply posting and disappearing?
I've also been learning about HIVE Power, staking, Resource Credits and rewards, and I'm beginning to understand that building on Hive is more of a marathon than a sprint.
One thing I particularly enjoy is that Hive gives me room to write about different parts of my life.
I can share The Diary Game, my experiences as a teacher, things I learn from books, sd also get to review personal development, Nigerian culture and everyday moments that might otherwise seem ordinary.
And perhaps that's what I am beginning to appreciate most about this journey.
Hive is teaching me that ordinary experiences can become meaningful stories when you take the time to document them.
I'm still very much a learner.
I don't have everything figured out. I'm still learning how the blockchain works, how to grow my audience, how to create better posts and how to become a more active member of the community.
But when I look back at where I started, I'm proud of the progress I've made so far.
I think it's safe to say that I am proud of the person I am becoming here .
And this is only the beginning.
I'm looking forward to writing more, meeting more Hiveans, supporting other creators, improving my content and hopefully building something meaningful here.
My Hive journey has only just begun.
To everyone who has supported, voted, commented or simply stopped by to read my posts so far, thank you.
Here's to learning, growing, connecting and creating on Hive. 🥂
