From Zhu Xi's "Original Meaning Of the Yijing":

屯/Zhun (Difficult Beginning)

Kan/Water above
Zhen/Thunder below

Zhen has a single yang line moving in beneath two yin lines, so it's virtue is activity and it's image is thunder.

Kan has a single yang trapped between two yin lines, so it's virtue is being trapped, or danger; it's image is clouds, rain or water.

Zhun is the name of this hexagram. It means the point when something is beginning to arise but has not yet fully come through. In terms of the character it represents a sprout beginning to break out of the earth but not yet through.

The hexagram is Zhen encounter Kan, hence the name of the hexagram. Zhen is active below and Kan is danger above; this is the ability to act in the midst of danger. Although the ability to act can be successful, when in danger it is better to hold onto correctness (aka correct principles; observe the times before making a move) and not to advance suddenly. Therefore when a divination yields this hexagram, the prognostication is greatly successful, appropriate and correct, but one can not suddenly have somewhere to go.

Also 9 at the beginning (first line), the yang residing below the yin and all other lines, is the ruler of this entire hexagram. This is the image of the worthy subordinate who wins the support of the people to become a ruler/leader.
