Now I'm no love expert, neither have I been in love before. Hi peeps it's Abeegail again and welcome to my blog, today we'll be talking love, yeah that 4 letter word everyone seems to use often but have you ever stopped to think what does love really mean to me.
What exactly do you consider as love?
Lots of people use the word casually, I love my mom, I love my dad, I love my dog, I love (insert your favorite food lol😂), but what does it mean. I am very interested in love, even though I haven't fallen in love yet and maybe it's because I have a very idealized idea of love (I'll blame that on the unhealthy amount of romantic novels I've read) and I think that's is affecting my love life in general because I found out that real life and fictional-made up places are not the same, bummer right?
Now the whole reason I'm talking about love in the first place is that I've noticed that I have a very idealized idea of love than most people and I'm so confused because I feel like I'm twelve and it's my first time in the real world. So please a quick question for does in love in the real world.
Why do you love the person you say you do?
Now I might open your eyes to something new for those who don't know, because this is a debated topic, online. Do you love your person because of how they make you feel, you know, butterflies in your belly and all, or is it because of how they say your name, how they know your favorite coffee brand, or how they got you slightly burnt plantains with eggs because that's how you like them (and yes I do like a slightly charred plantain, judge me). Do you like them because they satisfy your emotional and physical needs, or maybe because you like being someone's first thought In the morning. Do you like them because you can finally be called somebody's bae, or because you have someone to lay all your emotional trauma, guiltlessly, or because you finally have someone to introduce to people as you boyfriend or girlfriend.
Do you like them because of how they make you feel intelligent, or better than you seem or the attention that they give when they are there, you know, the high and ego boost you get when you see that you have them to yourself. Now if this entirely describes why you love someone, (You see how I said ENTIRELY.)then you are part of the people who I don't see eye to eye with on this topic. To people like you, you don't love love, you love being loved and that's where I have a problem because it's a tad selfish.
I know we all have how we interpret love and they are various forms in which love can exist and still be Love, but in my not so humble opinion, love is meant to be selfless. Being in love is not ALWAYS about how you feel or how the other person makes you feel, if you care solely about what you can take, what this person has to offer, what this person can or can't do, then maybe you lost the plot. Because for me, love is looking at a person like there amazing and thinking to yourself how you can make them even more amazing, it's about what you can give to make that person's life I bit better. It's consideration, it's listening when they've already told you before, it's the small thing you can do to make that person happy, it's about what you can GIVE.
It's okay to love how someone makes you feel but it shouldn't be the only reason you should want to be with someone, if you love them you'd want to meet them halfway, you'd want them to feel the way they make you feel.
At the end of the day, love is how you treat the person you love, not just how you feel about them because what good is your love if the person can't feel it. But oh well.....what do I know about love, I'm just a teenage girl, who's jobless and typing from behind the screen.
