Splinterlands Art Contest // Week 264 // 3D Card Arachne Thug

(edited)

Hello! I had a while without publishing, I really have been busy with personal things but I finally have a new model after a while, it took a little longer because I had time without working so much with the program, I even forgot some tools jejeje

With this model I worked on the textures of the marks on the abdomen and those on the face separately, but in general it was good practice as always to make this model and apply the weights when applying the skeleton to the armor, the scenario as such was relatively easy to do since they were only some rocks but what did give me a little trouble when working on the sculpting of the character was the hair and a little working on the armor since solid modeling sometimes makes it a little difficult for me.

  • Work Tools:

Blender 3D

Amorpaint

Tablet Wacom Intuos 5

  • Model of card:

  • Video in high speed 24 minutes: Here

  • Carved Model Block:

This was the block I used to create the model, it is the first spider model I have worked on.

  • Textures in ArmorPaint:

Working on the textures was fast as always when using the Armorpaint program, I always use it to work on stylized textures quickly, I saw some details in the texture maps of the legs but the armor helped me cover that part so in the end do not modify it.

  • Textures in Blender:

Previewing the model with the textures applied in Blender after exporting from ArmorPaint, then placing the materials is always the easiest way when I have it exported and ready to go.

  • Textures and render tests:

After having everything ready with the lights and scenes ready, I start working on the previews and creating the render samples that I then edit with Photoshop.

  • Renders ready:

And the final result, as always another great work ready to publish and another great practice since the splinterlands models helped me a lot to improve little by little with my work style, I hope you like the finished model as much as I do 😄

Thank you very much and I hope you liked my post Greetings 😄

What’s the difference between ignorance and apathy?
I don’t know and I don’t care.

Your work is really incredible. I've always admired being a 3D artist but I guess it's a step by step process. Thank for sharing

The face of this model rather reminds me of SCP-1471 than the Arachne Thug, but still very nice work.
