Do you know what guys, I have been mulling over this matter of growth and change?
It is not like one day you are just going to wake up and become an amazing person. That takes time, effort and a lot of patience.
When I reflect upon my own journey, I can see how far I have come. There were periods when it felt as though I had remained in the same place making no progress at all.
Then, however, it dawned on me that growth is a process. It’s not about sprinting to the finish line; it’s about taking small steps towards becoming who you want to be every day.
Starting something new like a business or learning a new skill can be scary. When I first started my own business there was so much doubt and fear inside me. But also burning desire to succeed myself and show myself that ‘I am able’.
Know what? It was difficult though. There were moments when I felt like giving up, that I would never make it. Nevertheless, I continued to move forward and step by step, things began to change.
As I look back at my life, I understand that the most important factor for personal development is self-grace.
The truth is you can err along the way; not move in a straight line; even get lost sometimes but keep moving towards your dream.
I think this is why the butterfly analogy resonates so strongly with me. Before it ultimately becomes a butterfly, a caterpillar undergoes transformational stages.
It must retreat into its cocoon where there will be a complete metamorphosis. While no visible transformations may seem to take place from outside, inside great things are happening.
That’s how I think about personal development. It may not be clear to the naked eyes, but amazing and tremendous transformations are going on beneath the surface.
And like a butterfly, we come out stronger and much more beautiful than ever before.
So when you feel stuck now or doubt whether you would ever attain your dreams, just know that growth takes time. Be patient with yourself, trust in the process and never belittle the force of persistence.
I strongly believe that each one of us has the potential to become their best self. However, it is our duty to embrace this journey, foster our dreams and ambitions and keep going no matter what.
Eventually, it is not about how soon we achieve our goals but rather who we turn out being as people in the course thereof. To me personally, this is what makes a journey towards transformation so incredible rewarding.
