Habit building and consistency seems to be hard for a lot of people including myself.
Properly an aspect of my fast twitching adhd brain which forgets what foot to take the first step with and the ever-so lacking of motivation for any activity which doesn't give me a dopamine boost within 5 mins of said activity.
People tend to said: "Ohh, you just need diciplin or you are spineless etc etc etc" or maybe my adhd is just not interested in the investment?
As I talked about before, if I can automate it, I automate it. So its out of my mind and isn't mixed between the 7 other thoughts I have at any given moment x)
But I listened to a podcast with Dr.K and his approach to anything mental is pretty amazing if you ask me. Because it breaks the norm and let people be themselves instead of trying to be what society tells you to be or how to do stuff when you ain't right in the head..
I can't remember what Dr.K called it, but basically do something dramatic. So instead of doing 10x3 of push ups, just do as many as you can in one go and call it a workout! & Then do it again some day later when you remember it again :D
He also talked about just waking up, not looking at your phone to avoid getting caught in the brainrot cycle. But wake up, go outside and sprint and then walk back. Done, "easy" and fast short workout.
Is this optimal? Nah, is it working and better than nothing? Yes.
Certainly.
I am doing this with biceps curls to begin with and I was out running yesterday :D
Lean into Drastic changes and have fun.
