RE: The Honour of Being Needed: A Lesson in Karma

hello @princessbusayo. Isn't is wonderful when we are able to derive joy from helping others! And then to feel seen, valued, and appreciated in return is yet another blessing. Your story is nicely constructed and doesn't read like AI but surprisingly flagged for a little more AI influence that we would like. We wonder if you perhaps used any AI editing software for this piece? And if so, would you mind sharing which software was used? Please be aware that extensive use of advanced AI editing features will cause a piece to be flagged, and we will then not be able to reward the piece as we could have without the flag. Many writers inadvertently fall into this trap. We encourage them to stick to spelling, punctuation, and light grammar edits only, and steer away from any suggested rephrasing from editing software. We have a very useful article in The Ink Well in Feb-25 that explains this issue for our writers. Have a wonderful day and we hope to see you back soon.

On the issue of editing software

This is a surprise to me because I only used Grammarly to correct and edit. Though, there were a few sentences where I tried getting a perfect emotion expression for and that was it. Could that be the reason for the AI influence? I guess!

I appreciate your feedback and will check out the link you provided. Thank you.

Thank you so much for replying and offering us that useful feedback. And yes! That would most likely be the reason! AI tends to use generic descriptive phrasing and it flags. The article explains how easily it is to fall into the trap of AI inadvertently as editors become more and more advanced and AI-entangled. Keep reading the works of others to diversify your literary exposure, and keep writing from your heart! Your writing will improve organically.
