Financial management is a crucial skill we all must possess, as it can go on to play a vital role in helping us manage our finances properly in aspects such as investment, savings, spending, and the like, and when we possess it, it reduces the chance of such a person going broke or bankrupt. In a time like this, where the world economy seems to be crashing and inflation is on the rise, financial management becomes even more necessary, and that's why when it comes to my day-to-day or weekly spending, I try as much as possible to introduce some measures that help me minimize my spending and improve my life generally, so in light of that, I'll be sharing how I do that below.

First on the list of how I minimize my weekly spending is by focusing on careful planning and discipline in spending. To achieve this, I mostly lay out a budget during the weekend for the coming week; doing so helps me analyze everything I need to do for that week and track what I spend on each item, from transportation to food items and the like. Doing so also goes on to help me avoid unnecessary spending that I would have done had I not laid down the budget that helps me stay disciplined to what is stated for the week.
Secondly is the fact that I prioritized buying only essential things; for instance, I prefer to buy things in bulk, especially food items, and that's because when I do that, it's cheaper than buying them bit by bit. Another thing is how I ensure I mostly prepare my meal at home rather than buying ready-made food outside in places such as restaurants and the like. Preparing my meal helps me a lot because what I'll spend in preparing a meal that'll last me the whole day won't even be enough to get me just breakfast.
To further ensure I minimize my spending within the week, I do make sure I streamline my outgoings so that I can reduce the cost of transportation. In fact, for that to be more instrumental, I do merge errands so that once I go out, I know I'll be using that opportunity to attend to other things I'll most likely need around that route. Given the hike in the value of fuel, we all know transportation has become more costly, so to avoid too much money going into that, that's why I tend to merge errands or outings so as to reduce the cost of transportation.

In a nutshell, by avoiding impulse spending or buying, having a weekly budget, and streamlining my outings and the like, all of these have been of great impact in helping me in keeping my weekly spending as low as possible. You can do the same so as to actualize the same result.

Eating food in home is healthy and cost effective both and I also recommend this. In case of buying I think we should focus on what we actually need. We should not waste our money for the luxury. Your methods of minimizing cost are quite similar to mine also.
