Weekend Engagement - Working on First Weekend of 2025

Hi all, blessed 2025 to everyone, hope you are having a great time spending the 2nd weekend of 2025. Apologies, haven't been posting in Weekend Experiences community for quite a while. But here I am, back to share based on the prompt given for this week.

I would like to do a sharing based on what did I do last weekend. There is another prompt for this week on what would I rather be doing instead of working on weekend, but to answer that, I do like my work on a weekend because I get to visit many places and interact with many people.

Working On First Weekend of 2025
It' the first weekend of 2025, I believe most people would be having fun partying or spending time with their loved one as they embark on the new year. As for me whom run a photobooth business, weekends are actually where most of the events happen where I will be deploying my photobooth setup at the event locations to allow guest to the events to bring home memories with a photo print out or two.

The Event - GTR Singapore Annual Dinner and Dance
I was engaged for the above mentioned event and I brought my team down with me last weekend down to the event location to start the setup. That event place is a hotel within the Laguna National Golf Resort Club. When I arrived, this was a sight that greeted me and my team as we carried our equipment from the basement carpark towards the hotel lobby:

Was trying to find the GTRs in the basement carpark but couldn't find any, but here they are 4 Nissan GTR right before my eyes. And after talking to guy whom hired our team, these 4 cars belong to the committee of the GTR Singapore club. And as my team get ready our setup, more GTRs came in and I can hear the loud engine roar as each of them came in. I could see them through the glass window from where I do my setup and what a sight it is. We usually see single GTR on the roads but never did I ever see a full suite of GTR right before my eyes in all shades and colours. I guess that is the privilege of working in the photography industry.

While we were "distracted" by the GTRs, we manage to get our photobooth setup complete in 20mins before we get busy taking pictures for guest whom arrive at the event location. Because of the theme set for the photobooth, I've prepared a little halloween-ish props for the event and added my 3 labu labu toys that I gotten from overseas to add in to my photobooth props collection.

Setup ready, props ready, template loaded and work start as guest started to stream in and showcasing their beautiful costumes that they wore to the event. Every came dressed to kill with very elaborated costumes and makeup. A fun night for the guest as we captured their beautiful attire and let them bring home a momento.

Time passed fast as we came to the end of our service and the team started packing up our equipment. When we are done, we took a break near the sofa area of the hotel outside the ballroom, a really nice and cozy feeling with a super plush cushion that we can sink in.

Being the inquisitive me, I started taking pictures in the area too. Was amazed with the beautiful interior of the place and here are some pictures I took:

Enough of the quick rest, we carried our equipment and left the location back to the carpark.

But one view of the lobby area made me want to capture another picture of this beautiful lobby.

An awesome evening where we had fun interacting with the guest, witnessing beautiful GTRs and also admiring the beautiful interior of the hotel.

Wrap Up
Many would think that they would not want to spend time working on a weekend. But for us in this industry, it is kinda unavoidable. So why not just enjoy every event, interact with guest, appreciate the event locations and even learn more about the things people do and even make new friends from such events. It is another kind of fun that not many get to experience, but I do wanna emphasize that I do free up time to spend with my family and loved ones.
