Secondly, invasion always leads to loss of lives and properties, and very intelligent invaders knows which lives and properties to attack to make their invasion swifter, and they do this mostly from within. The spies will be placed around key players and in key sectors in the government and economy of the target land to assassinate or sabotage affairs. If those spies get to know that the people of that target land are willing to do anything for their nation or country, it might make then reconsider their choices. This point is based on the fact that they will see patriotism from the grassroots up to the top tiers of the society. That means knowing that I will take up arms to defend my country should alarm the invaders.
Lastly, it is a thing of pride to be recognised as a people that defended their land, and succeeded against invaders. That nation will be respected throughout history, in the same vein, the people that stood at the Frontline. Of course I would want to go down history as someone that fought for their nation, not one that fled at the face of adversity. Now imagine how much regrets I would feel if my country was invaded and I didn't do anything to try and stop the invasion? Or that we had the victory but I was cowering away somewhere? How would I ever be able to show my face is society as a patriotic citizen? Or be able to have a say in governance matters without always being worried about how my subordinates would see my security suggestions.
In conclusion, I would always take up arms to defend my country from invasion for every reason possible.
