Was I popular in high school or not?

Another really good question which is hard to answer. I suppose it depends on who you are talking too. Was I popular at school? My first reaction would be to say no. I went from a small primary school to a much bigger high school. It felt so big that even after 5 years I had not talked or meet everyone in my year level. I felt like I knew pretty much everyone in my classes but outside that everyone seem to hang around in there little groups and I felt like a pretty small part of a big system.

I liked my sport so I seemed to hang around with a group of class mates that where kicking a football on the oval or in the school gym lifting a few weights.

The popular students seemed to be in ones in trouble all the time, missing classes and smoking down the back of the oval but they never seemed to last. Basically they were too popular to be in school, they left, were kicked out or just got jobs.

I did my share of dumb things but I went out of my way to make sure I was not caught out or got in too much trouble.

I suppose in the end I may have been more popular than I thought, not as popular as the ones that just did not care but I made it through our schooling system and got a decent job.

I even made the School Tarkarri magazine which means future in some of the Aboriginal languages.

A Sports award probably does not count for much but I suppose it means somebody must have picked or voted for me somewhere or some how.
