Modern Man~ [WE140] Weekend-Engagement Topics
Ladies and gentlemen. May I say, compliments of the season? It's a new year and my first time in 2023 to come to WE. It is such a great opportunity and I appreciate the fact that life is still bubbling here. I am more elated to take part in this week's discussion, hoping that my perspective would fit into the time we are writing about. Time here is a factor to be considered for everything we want to get involved in.
Hence, I would like to share my view of who a modern man should be and the attributes that qualify him for that sphere.
Modern man
"What do you feel makes a man, a man, in today's society? What attributes do you feel a man should possess, how should he think and act?"
A modern man is cognizant of his present world and the changes that have occurred with time, living according to the simple standards set by time and nature but not pushed by every trend that may not be soothing to live. That's who a modern man is. This definition is coined from my experience of wandering and seeking to know about what I want, my many desires in the presence of limited resources.
Therefore, permit me to say that a modern man is liberal and respects every other person for who they are. He doesn't look down on people, irrespective of their skin pigment, social status, background, creed, or clan. Among other notable characters, the following under-explained are what can be put together to say an individual is a modern man.
Pride in Appearance
It is tri that you don't judged a book by its cover. That does not mean one should appear unkempt in public places.
The above phrase, pride in appearance, does not mean one should be proud. Pride is a poison that first shows up before an individual would fall and may not have the opportunity to rise again.
Hence, one should be as humble as much as possible while showing up with at least a moderate dress sense always.
Appearance shows the manner.
Support A Cause
Every man is to be known for something. Whatever you love doing is what you should be known for. For me, I like to pursue a dream until it is fulfilled. No matter how many stumbling blocks I meet on the way, I keep pressing on until I catch up.

I have heard countless times that Rome wasn't built in a day. Thus, I have purposed that I will do all the right things that will lead to achieving my set goal. I do not hold the belief of taking what does not being to me. Hence, I will strive to keep my honor. What is mine, belongs to me? And what isn't mine ought not to take my fancy.
Affectionate
In a world where the number of stressed people, endangered people, and poor people are on the increase, one should be able to support humans in no small measure.
Perhaps, I do not have the means to support the downtrodden, I should not add any more problems to the existing ones they are nursing.
To be called a modern man, one has to be compassionate to his neighbors.
Bearing in my that your present status is the prayer point of other people, is a pointer to the fact that you have what your neighbour could need to live a comfortable life. Hence, cherish what you have got while reaching other people to make them happy too.
The world would be a better place when we care for the needs.of other people. This is to say, a modern man ought to show affection to everyone he is capable of being helpful.
A Modern Man Should Be A Gentleman
I would like to say first, that a gentleman is a man who is polite and behaves well towards other people, especially women - Cambridge Dictionary. He shows a lot of respect to women and never takes them for granted, considering the components that make up a woman. is like controlling my ego, knowing how this part of a woman has made him vulnerable in the face of reality. Before now, there are stuff I use to feel are the responsibilities of woman. I see those things are notot while growsecond-classetting older, I saw those things as only a stereotype by society and culture with the intention to make women second class citizens.
My thoughts used to be that:
Women's education ends in the kitchen.
What a lazy thought! So you might say. But this held sway in our part of the world until when the feminist agenda came to plant the seed of understanding into the world.
Truth is that a modern man is a gentleman who gives women the opportunity to grow and be what they desire under his watch or supervision.
I am a modern man. I hope you'd be one too. That would make the world a more beautiful place to live.
