Having a Reunion with High School Friends after Eight years of graduating from High School.

This Saturday got me on a reunion with my high school friends. It had been over eight years since we last saw eachother. Everyone had gone in different directions after we finished school. Some went to higher institution at different states, some are working, three are even married now. Life had taken us far from each other. But one day, on our what's app group, we decided to have a reunion.

We talked in a group chat and picked a day and place to meet. I was excited thinking about how it would feel to see everyone again after so long.

On the day of the reunion which was Saturday, I got ready and went to the venue. When I arrived, I saw some of them already there waiting for the rest to come and some were behind me coming. As soon as we sighted eachother, we started shouting and calling the nick names we used to call ourselves back then in school. It was so nice to see old faces again.

Some of them are now serving in NYSC. They shared stories about their service experience and what life is like in different states. Some friends are working and doing their business. A few are married and even have children.

We sat down and talked about the past. We laughed about our school days, how we use to joke at eachother, the punishments and the fun times, even those that were secretly crushing and admiring themselves then, exposed themselves now and it was really fun.

We remembered how we used to play during break time, the teachers we liked, and even the silly things we did in class.

There was plenty of food and drinks. We ate, drank, and laughed together. Some people danced to the music. We took pictures and made videos to keep the memories. It felt like a big family gathering.

The best part of the day was just being together again. Even though it had been many years, it felt like no time had passed. We were all happy to see each other and enjoy the day.

As it started getting dark, we knew it was time to go. We took more pictures, hugged each other again, and said goodbye. Some people shared their phone numbers so we could keep in touch more better this time. We didn’t want the day to end, but we had to go home.

The reunion was indeed a memorable experience, it reminded me of how special friendship is and that even if we don’t see each other every day, the friendship will always be strong to our hearts.

That night, I thought about all the fun we had, the laughter and the stories we shared. It was a day I will never forget. I just hope we can meet again soon and keep the friendship alive.
