WEEKEND EXPERIENCE TOPIC: MY THREE PHYSICAL HEALTH TIPS AND THREE BEHAVIOURAL TIPS FOR A BETTER LIFE

Hi hivers! hope you're doing great? I would like to share some health tips that have helped me prioritize my physical and mental health.

I would be starting with the three physical health tips that has helped me so far.

Staying Hydrated: staying hydrated has really helped me so far, it has given me a healthy and dewy looking skin, staying hydrated is very important for our well-being, make it a daily habit to drink water, it should be taken regularly, drinking water doesn't only help keep the body hydrated but live it looking healthy.

Here are some benefits of drinking water regularly:

Clear Skin: Our skin needs water for it to get that natural glow, being hydrated is crucial for everyone. When the skin is dehydrated it is prone to suffer from cracks and dryness, whereas a well hydrated skin is much more smooth, soft and clean. So aim for a well hydrated skin and thank me later.

Aid Digestion: Water as they say is life, water helps aid Digestion, it helps promote good bowel health and prevent constipation.

Helps In Blood Flow: Drinking water and staying hydrated helps to improve blood circulation, warm water specifically is helpful as it opens our veins and arteries allowing easy and quick flow of blood through them.
We have several other benefits of drinking water but I will be stopping here;

Eating a balanced diet: It is very mandatory that we consume healthy and nutritious meals on a daily basis, When choosing a meal it is important that we choose meals packed with nutrients, I mean more proteins and fibres and less fat, sugar and calories. Actually it's true when people say the food we eat can either serve as poison or medicine to the body. Rather than consuming unhealthy food and snacks we could substitute them for fruits, vegetables, healthy smoothie etc.

Regular Exercise: I know this might sound a bit challenging especially for those who haven't engaged in exercises in the past, but I'm letting you know that you're not alone on this, I believe in you and trust you're going to do great. You can start by going for a 30 minutes evening walk or run, you could go swimming during the weekend, you could ask your friends to join you on days you don't feel like going alone, you could dance to your favorite playlist at home.
These are a few ways to help keep your body fit and healthy.least I forgot, try engaging in regular morning stretches as well, as it helps helps prevent stiff joints, helps with flexibility and reduce muscle tension.

For the Three Behavioural Tips I have listed:

Practicing gratitude: Ever since I started practicing gratitude, I noticed I've been happier and at peace with myself and those around me,I did that by appreciating every little effort those around me contribute to my life and growth. I would wake up in the morning, pray, speak a lot of positive affirmations to myself and thank God for the life of everyone around me, those who came into my life and left and those who stayed. I learnt to not complain but to be appreciative.

Few ways you could practice gratitude:

You could do that by journalling, that's simply writing down the things you're grateful for each day.

By reflecting on the positive aspect of your life, the good memories you had; probably with family, friends, spouse and also the nice places you visited.

Setting boundaries: I'd say setting boundaries is necessary cause it helps create standards for you, when you set boundaries for yourself it lets people know that they can't just walk in and out of your life whenever they want.
Learn to say "No" to things that drain your energy, learn to put yourself first, don't get me wrong, all I'm trying to say is, don't be a people pleaser, don't do things you dislike just because someone says it's okay to do them, set boundaries and stick to them.

For you to set boundaries:

You'll need to first reflect on your values, know what's significant to you and what you hold dear

Be clear and direct, let them know what you will and will not tolerate.

Get enough sleep: try aiming for 7-8 hours of sleep each night. Having enough sleep can help stay focused and productive during the day, sleep helps with concentration, memory and problem solving. I know for a fact that adequate sleep does improve overall mood.
