Wonderful day!
Today’s chosen topic is about physical health tips and behavioral tips for a better life. Well, I am not in the best position to talk about this topic but this also comes from my observation from the people around me and from personal experiences.
For physical health tips, I would like to start with GETTING MORNING SUNSHINE (if possible, also depending where we live and the season). For some time, I lived with a distant relative when growing up. She used to open the windows and curtains of the house as soon as she got up. We were still asleep but the soft sunrays made us awake otherwise we would oversleep which was not a good habit. I observed that getting morning sunshine also boosts my energy during the day and it helps me fall asleep easily at night. I heard that getting morning sunshine can help reduce blood pressure, but I still have to observe this one.
It’s a known fact that walking is a good way to exercise. When I go out for errands, I plan ahead to accomplish them in one area when possible. The reason is so I can just go from one place to another on foot. For example, after going to a government office, I stop by at the church, on the way, pick some fruits from market vendors then I just walk to the grocery store to buy some items. Somehow this gives me mental satisfaction that I’m able to accomplish many things in a day while also doing a physical activity at the same time.
One thing that I myself need to correct more is my WATER CONSUMPTION. I feel good when I drink warm water first thing after waking up. I perspire after drinking warm water and this makes me set for the morning routine. Later of the day, I forget to consume more according to the required 8 glasses of water a day for adults. From my observation, I feel less bloated and I don’t get the acidic feeling in my stomach, and helps with constipation problems.
Moving on to behavioral tips. I think AWARENESS OF PURPOSE is truly important. This can help us focus on the details needed towards the desired outcome. A coworker of mine before underwent miscarriage then had marital problems. She continued going to law school on weekends and after work. She persevered through those challenges and in the recent years became a lawyer. It was what she really dreamt of and she fulfilled that plan.
I would like to add BEING CONSISTENT. It’s easy to set goals but if we don’t focus on every single step because we lack consistency, then reaching our goals can even be more daunting. I admit I have a little problem with procrastination. I may have started taking the steps but I may get distracted and procrastinate then it slows down my progress… This reminds me of the saying, “Don’t wait for tomorrow, what you can do today.”
Lastly, I think REMAINING HUMBLE is also important. When I hear of someone's passing, this makes me reminded that everything in this world is temporary. No matter how rich nor how successful a person is, the reality of death is always present. This thought puts me to a more humble outlook in life. I should acknowledge my limitations and my place in this world.
These are also my self-reflections and I’m trying my best to work on these weaknesses for self-improvement and mental well-being. Thank you for sharing your precious time and heartfelt gratitude to @galenkp for supporting #weekend-engagement initiative. See you around Hive!
