Using Scroll Network Alpha Testnet... Potential Airdrop???

Hello Peeps

So Arbitrum airdrop have already rocked the world of many airdrop hunters and may even turn out to be the biggest airdrop of the year. Early users have been rewarded with thousands of dollars worth ARB token as a token of appreciation by the scaling solution provider. Curiosity and explorer mindset after all pays!

I missed big on last year Optimism airdrop, and I promised myself to never be in such a position again. So I started exploring of the scaling solutions out there like Arbitrum, ZKsync, StarkNet etc. And it payed off as I turned out to be eligible for recent Arbitrum ARB token airdrop.

I received 1250 ARB token which are not as much as many of other frequent Arbitrum user got, but nevertheless free monies. I guess airdroppers are becoming cautious of airdrop scavengers/hunters and keep adding more & more checks and conditions to ensure only true platform loyalists receive the airdrop.

So today I am going to share with you a layer 2 scalling solution with huge future airdrop potential; Scroll. Scroll is a zkEVM-based zkRollup on Ethereum that enables native compatibility for existing Ethereum applications and tools. For now their Alpha Testnet is alive and cherry on top is its free to use.

Scroll is going to launch their own token eventually once their main net goes live and there are always bright chances of an airdrop for early users and testers. For now since Alpha testnet is alive so we can always go there test a few things out to get ourselves listed among early users and increase our chances of receiving the future potential airdrop.

The steps to test Scroll Alpha testnet are actually pretty simple.

  1. Go to https://scroll.io/alpha, connect your metamask and add both layer 1 (Goerli Testnet) and layer 2 (Scroll Alpha test net) to your metamask.

  2. Next step is get Ethereum into your Goerli testnet address. You can get free testnet Ethereum from various faucets. I used https://goerlifaucet.com/ to get 0.1 Eth.

    Faucet.png

Just signup using your google ID, fill in your Ethereum address and Captcha to receive GoerliEth instantaneously.

  3. Next is bridging GoerliEth from Goerli testnet to Scroll Alpha testnet. Go to https://scroll.io/alpha/bridge and bridge your Eth from Goerli to Scroll Alpha.

The bridging process is somewhat slow and may take 5-10 minutes so be patient on this one.

  4. After bridging your Ethereum to Scroll Alpha testnet head over to https://uniswap-v3.scroll.io/#/swap and add USDC as a new token.
USDC token scroll contract address: 0x07865c6e87b9f70255377e024ace6630c1eaa37f

  5. With USDC token added, perform a couple of swaps back and forth with Eth and USDC. Make sure to end up with half of your balance in Eth and half in USDC.

  6. Now head over to Pools(https://uniswap-v3.scroll.io/#/pool) and add liquidity in Eth-USDC liquidity pool.

  7. Remove liquidity and again add liquidity for the same pair.

There you go, you are all set as an early tester of Scroll. The sole purpose of multiple swaps, adding and removing liquidity was to register transactions from your address on Scroll testnet chain to become elligible for potential future airdrop. Check your wallet address activity on https://blockscout.scroll.io/.
You can repeat the swap and liquidity process on weekly/monthly basis to get your self registered as frequent user and may receive bigger chunk of airdrop. And once Scroll network beta launches, all above steps can be repeated using real Ethereum.

But one thing to keep in mind is, all of this is just in the anticipation of a potential airdrop. As far as testnets are concerned no money is needed so we are good, But with Beta phase usage real money is required to cover the transaction cost of swaps and liquidity. So there is always a chance of no airdrop and all the money going to waste. That's the risk you are going to take if you plan on being an airdrop hunter.
Personally, I would put(invest) like $50 in top 5 or may be 10 potential projects like these and wait for my luck. Because if only single one of them clicks and you get airdropped, all your investment gets paid off. e.g. I tickled with Arbitrum with just $20 worth Eth and received $1700 worth airdrop. Had I been more open and used it more frequently I would have got may be like 5K worth tokens(bygones).
Point is the crypto world is uncertain and things seldom go as per plan. You keep trying hard to earn money from stuff like blogging or trading and next thing you get is airdropped couple of thousand dollar worth tokens from somewhere due to some nascent transaction you did in the past. Crazy right!
Well you can't predict from where you are going to get airdropped but least you can do is be smart to increase your chances.

Thanks for stopping by...

~~ Until Next Time ~~
