Die Massenmedien haben sehr viel Werbung für Mastodon gemacht, obwohl das auch seine Probleme hat. Jeder Server-Betreiber kann User und Content aussperren. Der Name ist nicht sexy und die Apps nicht so gut.
Auch Bluesky von Jack Dorsey ist im Prinzip ähnlich wie Hive und auch nostr, das ebenfalls von Dorsey unterstützt wird, basiert auf dezentralen Relays und mehreren Frontends. Beides ist aber noch in Entwicklung und ziemlich unausgereift, aber beides hat Potential.
Dagegen existiert Hive bereits, hat eine lange Geschichte, mehrere Frontends, basiert sogar auf einer Blockchain und hat bereits mehrere Attacken überlebt.
Warum kann Hive das Twitter-Debakel bis jetzt so wenig für sich nutzen?
Ich denke, was Hive fehlt, ist Marketing. Das Produkt ist gut, aber unbekannt.
Kaum jemand kennt Hive, nicht einmal in der Krypto-Community, obwohl sich die Situation die letzten Jahre ein wenig verbessert hat.
Was Hive fehlt ist ein einflussreicher Milliardär / eine Persönlichkeit wie Jack Dorsey oder Elon Musk, der die Reichweite hat, um das Projekt zu pushen.
Oder das Produkt muss so gut sein, dass es sich quasi von selbst herumspricht und Millionen User anzieht. Mundpropaganda.
Oder am besten beides.
Ist ein bisschen ein Henne-Ei-Problem und auch ein Dilemma von dezentralen Projekten, die eigentlich ohne Leader auskommen möchten.
Was denkt ihr? Wie könnte Hive das Twitter-Debakel besser für sich nutzen? Was sagt ihr dazu, dass Twitter das Logo auf Dogecoin geändert hat?

Front-ends and relays can still censor, but it is possible to run your own relays (servers), depends how frontends will handle that. Possible that censored accounts de facto get inaccessible for most nostr users who don't actively search for alternative relays. Fragmentation of available messages / visibility.
How Hive is censorship-resistant
Text content is actually stored on a decentralized, censorship-reistant blockchain.
Multiple front-ends and API servers.
If some front-ends begin to censor, users need to switch or run their own servers / front-ends. But underlying blockchain should be unaffected. Everyone can run nodes, API servers or front-ends.
Users can downvote posts, which affects rewards and front-end visibility. But content remains on the blockchain. Depends on the front-ends how they handle that.

The mass media has done a lot of promotion for Mastodon, although that has its problems too. Any server operator can ban users and content. The name is not sexy and the apps are not that good.
Bluesky by Jack Dorsey is also similar in principle to Hive and nostr, which is also supported by Dorsey, is based on decentralized relays and multiple frontends. However, both are still under development and quite immature, but both have potential.
In contrast, Hive already exists, has a long history, multiple frontends, is even based on a blockchain, and has already survived multiple attacks.
Why has Hive been able to capitalize so little on the Twitter debacle so far?
I think what Hive lacks is marketing. The product is good, but unknown.
Hardly anyone knows Hive, not even in the crypto community, although it has improved a bit the last few years.
What Hive lacks is an influential billionaire/personality like Jack Dorsey or Elon Musk who has the reach to push the project.
Or the product has to be so good that it virtually gets around by itself and attracts millions of users. Word of mouth.
Or preferably both.
It's a bit of a chicken-and-egg problem and also a dilemma of decentralized projects that actually want to do without leaders.

Hab das gerade als Aprilscherz gehalten. Da ich zwar einen Twitter Account habe, aber diesen nur einmal im Jahr nutze, ist mir das gar nicht aufgefallen. Ist halt typisch Musk. Wenn er Geld braucht, dann wird kurz mal wieder Dodge gehypt. Megasprünge macht der Coin aber gerade nicht. War nur ein kurzer Anstieg. !LOL

An Hive kann man als Milliardär nicht so viel verdienen, eben weil es viel dezentraler ist als die anderen. Was beim letzten Übernahmeversuch passiert ist, ist ja bekannt.

vielleicht macht er auch einen indirekten "rugpull", solange Staaten ihn noch gewähren lassen. Womöglich muss Twitter wieder stärker zensieren (plus womöglich eine Lizenz für Kryptowerbung einholen).
Marketing fehlt definitiv und ja sicher würde so ein Clown wie Musk der Popularität helfen, du kannst ihn ja mal auf Twitter fragen :D

Einen Milliardär braucht Hive nicht unbedingt, eher einen großen bzw. viele kleine Influencer, die es auf YouTube, Twitch und anderen Plattformen ins Gespräch bringen.
Auch die machen nichts umsonst. Die wollen auch ihre Kohle dafür haben.

Um ehrlich zu sein, sehe ich Hive gar nicht so sehr als Social-Media-Plattform. Ich will hier auf Hive keine Fotos sehen vom Mittagessen irgendeines C-Promis (oder was auch immer). Zumindest würde es von mir hier keinen Vote bekommen. Hive ist kein Instagram, Facebook oder Twitter. Es ist Hive.
Aber Hive verdient es größer zu sein, weil das Hive-Öko-System einfach mehr bietet.

BEERKING.It is true that Hive is in a good position but many people are not aware of it. Where Do Coin's logo is to open and above Twitter. If Hive could do the same, it would be in a very good position.
Hive is easy to use when you're inside but for someone new it has barriers to entry.
Also, charging a ticket to try something is not sexy. If Twitter had charged, even if it was only a dollar, for opening an account, nobody would have Twitter. The great masses do not pay for something they do not know.
Oh how lovely I can imagine all those dusty academics and professors posting their elsevier papers and conferences on a dogecoin platform haha 😂
Makes me wish I hadn't dumped all my Doge with the last pump! It would be great it Hive could get the attention of an A-list influencer to promote it. Sadly I'm not personal close friends with any Billionaires!

Das Hive-Ökosystem ist einmalig und hat sehr viel Potenzial. Gleichzeitig ist die Plattform komplex und für den Web2 Otto-Normalbürger sehr schwer zu navigieren. Mundpropaganda bleibt ein starkes Marketingvehikel aber es reicht nicht aus. Die Initiativen die in Verbindung mit dem Posh-Token aufgesetzt wurden, um Awareness für Hive auf Web2 zu schaffen, sind sehr gut. Weiterhin glaube ich, dass größer aufgesetzte Hive Festivals und der Auftritt von Hive auf Messen wie z.B. auf der größten Tech-Show in London (da hatte beispielsweise auch Ubuntu einen kleinen Stand) einen starken Pull-Effekt erzielen könnten. Sponsoring wäre eine weitere Idee.

My friend you are right in this content, I appreciate this post of yours. I agree that Hive is far ahead in the world of blockchain and rightly so, but I also cannot understand why Hive is not taking a step towards marketing. I believe that Hive should encourage marketing to its own users and if it is a rewarding activity then everyone will do it.

I think Elon holds a lot of DOGE so he prefers that over the other options. However, I also consider Hive superior to DOGE and it would also be the better option.

because a lot of people still focus on steem and not hive. Hive has yet not gained the same level of popularity. If we compare NOSTR which has far fewer features and is more complicated to use than PEAKD (Hive), has become far more popular than HIVE within months. From the local meetup I noticed that Steem is seen as NOSTR's competitor and not Hive.

None of names were spoken but they were in the presentation.. you can see Steem is mentioned along with others. Hive is nowhere to found. It stills needs to gain popularity.
