Combining all four categories of earners - authors, curators, witnesses and DHF/DAO funding, @appreciator and @Ocdb ranked top with about 75,000 Hive earned within 30 days from curation. That's worth a little above $90,000, and if you multiply that by 12, you'd certainly get a figure over $1 million USD.
Agreed that curation, witness earnings require an initial investment in staking Hive or running nodes, however, a category like author earning is an aspect of earning on Hive that can be started without an initial investment, except for data and a smart phone or PC. That sums to $91,500 USD. This excludes his $LEO earnings for publishing daily on LeoFInance.

The ecosystem is just too large I can't get enough which to me is quit intriguing, just like @taskmaster4450le puts it,ever since I found out about the blockchain.
