Time to Hoard Silver Like a Pirate! Silver Climbs as Oil Prices Tumble

In the golden age of piracy the pirates were always on the lookout for treasure to be plundered, especially silver and gold... The jolly roger flag was amongst the most feared on the seas as people knew the pirates meant business and were there to rob them of all of their wealth. Most likely take steal their ship, and possibly strand them all in lifeboats in the middle of the sea. The golden age of piracy may be long gone, but you can still invest in your own jolly roger collection.

It was the tales and stories like these that got me interested in treasure hunting in the Caribbean. I spent many years diving and searching for sunken treasures. While I never walked away with any lost silver or gold, I once did find an old cannon that had been on the sea floor for hundreds of years. Sadly, it was way to big and heavy for us to recover with our small boat. But I still have the GPS coordinates, maybe someday I'll be able to go back with the proper permits and a big boat to claim it!

These one Troy ounce pure silver bars are a great collectible to add to your pirate stack. I'm sure @kerrislravenhill will be getting one to add to her treasure chest! I like it enough I'll be picking one up too, the nice part if they are fairly affordable at $91.77 each. Really not all that too high a premium which is hard to find these days. They even come in their own red velvet bag as a plus!

I've always enjoyed collecting silver with the good of skull and cross bones. I've picked up a pretty good collection over the years. I think last year I shared this one in a post, a nice silver strike token with some nice oxidation making it look old!

Silver

Silver and other precious metals have taken a beating since the start of the Iran conflict. Many large holders of silver and gold sold their positions to buy oil seeing huge dollar signs as the oil prices were sure to surge. They were right, and made a killing in betting on oil. But now that the fighting may be coming to an end they are starting to sell the oil as prices are dropping and coming right back into silver and gold.

The critical silver shortage still exists worldwide, and it can't be produced fast enough to keep up with demand. The end result can only cause prices to go up long-term.

To get a better idea of the overall market it's always better to zoom out than focus only on the last week. Over the last year you can see just how much silver has surged in price and will likely remain high for the foreseeable future.

Like I've said time and time again, silver and gold have been money since before recorded history and they always will be. it's best to have your own stash to protect your wealth and continually add to it even if it's in the form of one gram silver bars. Over time they stack up and will become a source of personal wealth and security for you and your family.
